Indian cricket team captain Virat Kohli has reportedly canceled the much-hyped deal worth Rs 34 crore to buy a luxury apartment in Mumbai's posh Worli area. Kohli, who was the ICC Cricketer of the Year 2017, was interested in buying a super luxury apartment built by Omkar Realtors and Developers.
However, according to a report in The Economic Times, the deal for the 7,000 sq ft apartment has now been scrapped. The report has claimed that the cancellation deed was made on March 20 and was registered the very next day.
The newspaper further said that Kohli is now looking to buy a property - most probably a penthouse - in Mumbai's western suburbs of Bandra and Versova.
Kohli, who will soon be seen leading the Royal Challengers Bangalore in the 11th edition of the Indian Premier League, has shifted his base to Mumbai after getting married to Bollywood star Anushka Sharma in December last year.
According to media reports, Kohli is currently living in a rented sea-view apartment on the 40th floor of Raheja Legend in Worli's Dr Annie Besant Road. One of the best batsmen in modern-day cricket is reportedly shelling out a hefty sum of Rs 15 Lakh per month for the apartment, which has a carpet area of 2,700 sq ft.
