It was during the fourth match of the ongoing five match ODI series against the New Zealand in Ranchi, when India’s limited over skipper M S Dhoni pulled off an incredible ‘blind’ run-out to dismiss Ross Taylor.
During the 46th over of NZ’s innings, Umesh Yadav bowled one down leg, Dhawal Kulkarni collected the ball and threw it towards Dhoni. The 35-year-old collected the ball chest high and flung it, with his usual amazing accuracy, to dislodge the timber – all the while with back to the stumps. Yes, Dhoni stumped a batsmen without even looking at the wickets.
Taylor was dismissed for 35 thanks to that smooth piece of work by Dhoni.
Dhoni, with this ‘blind’ run-out, once again proved that he is the greatest wicket-keeper batsmen of modern day cricket.
Take a look at Ross Taylor’s dismissal:
Kiwis set the 261 run target for India.
But, India eventually ended up losing the match by 19 runs.
