Madhya Pradesh Cricket Association (MPCA) secretary Milind Kanmadikar said that the third Test between India and New Zealand set to begin in Indore on October 8 is on as scheduled.

He said that the association is yet to receive any official word from the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) regarding cancellation of the last Test of the three-match series.

The third and final Test is scheduled to be hosted at the Holkar stadium here from October 8 and the hosts MPCA have decided to go ahead with their preparations.

“The match is on. We have made all the arrangements for it. The national cricket board has not given any direction for the cancellation of the match,” Kanmadikar said here on Wednesday.

The BCCI had on Tuesday reacted dramatically to the Justice Lodha Committee's direction to banks to freeze its accounts, threatening to call off the remaining matches of New Zealand's ongoing tour of India.

BCCI president Anurag Thakur had asserted that it may not be possible to hold the rest of the matches in the series, including one Test and five one-day matches as he is unable to withdraw any money since the banks have frozen their accounts completely.

He, however, had said that the only way the third Test in Indore can proceed is if the players and state association agree to participate without taking any fees, since the BCCI is not in a position to do financial transactions at all.
