With his team on a roll, captain Virat Kohli threw a lavish party for his teammates at his restaurant in Delhi a day before the first T20I against New Zealand. After a hard-fought three-match ODI series, which the hosts clinched 2-1, India are set to square off against the Black Caps in the three-match T20I series with the first match to be played on Wednesday at the Feroz Shah Kotla Stadium.

Opener Shikhar Dhawan shared a picture of the celebrations on his Instagram account with a caption: "Had great nite at Nueva resturant with boys lastnite @virat.kohli @rahulkl. Loved the food and service. Thanks for celebrating my anniversary."

Spinner Axar Patel also shared a snap with pacer Jasprit Bumrah, batsman Dinesh Karthik and fielding coach R Sridhar.

"Enjoyed a brilliant meal at Nueva restaurant last night in Delhi. Nice food, my favourite was Cold Pizza. Recommend a visit @imVkohli," he wrote on Twitter.

Meanwhile, fans too shared some pictures on social media, revealing a glimpse of the celebrations, which included coach Ravi Shastri and former captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni, among others.

Team India won their seventh consecutive ODI series when they defeated New Zealand in the last match by six runs on Sunday in Kanpur.

And now, India will aim to better their abysmal T20 record against New Zealand. Besides, this will be Ashish Nehra's last game in competitive cricket and India would look to bid a befitting farewell to the seamer, whose career has been characterised by many injuries and many comebacks.

India have so far lost all their matches against New Zealand, the fifth and last one coming at the ICC World T20 in 2016.

For a team that has stormed its way to the top of world cricket with wins over Australia, England and Sri Lanka, among others, this piece of statistic certainly sticks out like a sore thumb. That aside, India have been on a roll.
