Putting all record books on fire, Delhi batsman Mohit Ahlawat has smashed an incredible unbeaten 300 off just 72 balls in an innings of a Twenty20 match with 39 sixes.

Playing for Maavi XI against Friends XI in the Friends Premier League at Lalita Park here on Tuesday, 21-year-old Ahlawat also hit 14 fours as his side put on board 416 for two in 20 overs and won the match by 216 runs.

Wicket-keeper batsman Ahlawat has played three first-class games for Delhi in October 2015 and had managed just five runs in those innings with the highest score of four. He made his debut against Rajasthan and played two more games against Vidarbha and Haryana each.

The size of the ground and quality of bowlers though is unknown.

According to a report by the NDTV, he was batting on 250 at the end of 18 overs and scored 50 runs in the last two overs. He managed to score 34 runs in the last over with five consecutive sixes off the last five balls

With this feat, Ahlawat has become the first-ever batsman to score a triple-century in a Twenty20 match at any level.

West Indies batsman Chris Gayle holds the highest score in Twenty20 cricket, not including club cricket, with his 175 not out in an IPL match for the Royal Challengers Bangalore in 2013.

Australia's Aaron Finch holds the record of most runs in an innings of Twenty20 Internationals with his 156 against England in 2013.
