After claiming that he had resigned from the post of an advisor to the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman, former Pakistani fast bowler Shoaib Akhtar is finding himself in an embarrassing situation after it was learnt that he was officially removed along with three other advisors, according to ESPNcricinfo.

Since Ehsan Mani was elected as the new Chairman he has been bringing about a slew of changes in the administration of the governing body. Islamabad regional head Shakeel Sheikh, Aizad Sayid and former Test cricketer Salahuddin Sallu are the three other advisors who have been told that their services are no longer needed.

Akhtar on September 6 had announced that he is resigning from the post of advisor to the PCB chairman. The 43-year-old, who was appointed to the post by the former PCB chairman Najam Sethi, took to Twitter and declared his "immediate" withdrawal from the post.

"This is to announce that I have resigned from the post of Advisor to the Chairman #PCB effective immediately. @TheRealPCB #ShoaibAkhtar," Akhtar wrote.

Reflecting on the reason behind the decision, the pacer said that it is ethically incorrect to continue working while there are changes in PCB's governance.

"I can no longer continue in his role as he considered it ethically wrong to continue working due to change in PCB's governance," the Express Tribune quoted Akhtar, as saying.

Recently, former International Cricket Council (ICC) president Ehsan Mani was appointed as the official chairman of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) for a period of three years. He had replaced Najam Sethi, who stepped down from the post last month.
