Team India opener Shikhar Dhawan has vowed to comeback 'stronger and wiser' in the next match after his poor performance in the 1st Test at Birmingham brought him under the scanner. India lost to England by a narrow margin on 31 runs on the fourth day of the 1st Test and Dhawan has been one of the players who was highly criticised.
Dhawan, took to Twitter to post a picture along with his family and wished everyone on Friendship day. Dhawan's post read, 'I know you're all very sad & disappointed with our narrow loss yesterday. I've looked into my own performance, the mistakes I made and I‘ll come back stronger and wiser in the next game. Thank u for all the love & support.
Dhawan's performances is a reflection of the Indian batting line-up as all except Virat Kohli, failed to deliver when needed the most. India could have won the 1st Test if only their batsmen stuck on and applied their experience.
The left-handed batsman continues his poor run and form since the practice match against Essex, where he bagged a pair of ducks in the two innings he played.
Dhawan's fielding in the slip cordon was also quite poor as he dropped Sam Curran and Adil Rashid in the second innings of the match. The 20-year old Curran went to score his maiden Test half-century, allowing England to post a fighting total on the scoreboard.
Skipper Virat Kohli had also taken to social media to share a post on friendship day with his wife Anushka Sharma. Take a look.
