Sunday was a great day for Pakistan cricket. Pakistan swept Sri Lanka 3-0 in the Twenty20 series with a 36-run victory in the final game played amid heavy security in Lahore on Sunday. It was a special moment as Sri Lanka were on their first visit to the country since their team bus was ambushed by gunmen in a deadly attack in 2009 near the same Gaddafi Stadium eight years ago, killing six policemen and two civilians and injuring six players. The stadium was filled to its 25,000 capacity with fans carrying placards reading "Welcome back Sri Lankan Lions."
Led by Shoaib Malik's brisk 51 off 24 balls, Pakistan's top order scored 180-3 after being put into bat. Sri Lanka, who were also blanked 5-0 in the ODI series in the United Arab Emirates, continued to falter in batting and limped to 21-3 inside the first four overs before being restricted to 144-9.
Shoaib was adjudged the Man of the Series and was awarded a bike. And soon after, Shoaib's better half and Indian tennis star Sania Mirza tweeted a picture of Shoaib on the bike and with a caption, "Chalen phir is pe?? (Shall we go for a ride?) #MOM #Manoftheseries @realshoaibmalik."
Shoaib, bludgeoned five boundaries and two sixes and dominated a 75-run third wicket stand off 45 balls with Babar Azam, was quick to replay as well. "Yes yes! Jaldi se ready ho jao jaan im on the way (Yes, Yes! Get ready quickly sweetheart, I am on the way)," he tweeted.
However, Sania then posted another image of Shoaib's teammate Shadab Khan sitting on the bike with him. "Ok never mind.. I guess the seat is taken already @realshoaibmalik @76Shadabkhan," she tweeted.
Shoiab was quick to respond to this as well and said: "No no left him at the ground far away koi chakkar hi nai hey aiesa (there is no such problem)," he wrote.
Shadab, who felt like a party spoiler, offered his apology. "Ooops. Sorry bhabi," he said.
