India beat Australia by six wickets in the second ODI thanks to an outstanding batting display by Virat Kohli and Mahendra Singh Dhoni.

Kohli hit his 39th ODI ton while Dhoni hit his second half-century in a row to take India past the victory line in Adelaide.

However, in an exciting day of cricket, one record made by Rohit Sharma went unnoticed by many.

Rohit scored 43 off 52 balls, which included two fours and two sixes each before he got dismissed by Aussie all-rounder Marcus Stoinis.

Rohit entered the record books for hitting the most number of sixes against a single opponent in the ODI cricket. He reached the landmark with his second six of the match.

India's limited over vice-captain has now hit 89 sixes against the mighty Australians and surpassed the tally of 'Universe Boss' Chris Gayle.

The Caribbean giant has smashed 88 sixes against England in ODI cricket.

Rohit provided a flying start to India with his opening partner Shikhar Dhawan in 299-chase. While Dhawan got out on 32 runs off 28 balls to Jason Behrendord, Rohit continued to impress..

The 31-year old has been in good form in this ODI series. He hit a century in the first ODI at Sydney Cricket Ground where the visitors lost the match by 34 runs as well.

Apart from Kohli and Dhoni, Bhuvneshwar Kumar proved to be an important asset for the Indian team in Adelaide as he picked up four wickets to stop Australia at 298/9 in first innings.

The last match of three-match ODI series will be played at Melbourne Cricket Ground on December 18th.
