Former India opener Virendra Sehwag is famous on Twitter for his wit. After his retirement “The Nawab of Najafgarh” has taken the social networking site “Twitter” by storm with his hilarious birthday wishes to famous personalities.
This time, Virender Sehwag wished India's legendary spinner and former captain, Bishan Singh Bedi on his 70th birthday on Sunday. However, what followed was something Sehwag couldn’t have anticipated.
Sehwag tweeted a picture of Bishan Singh Bedi, in his glory days and captioned the image to wish him on his birthday.
Sehwag wrote: “Hpy Bdy to a man who did not bowl, but did poetry instead. A man who cheated batsmen with a cherry in hand @BishanBedi.”
However, Bedi did not take too kindly to the use of the word ‘cheated’ and thus took it upon himself to ‘correct’ the former star batsman.
Bedi, through his reply, explained to Viru the difference between 'cheating' and 'deception'.
The legendary cricketer wrote: “Thx Veeru..but just to clarify..I might’ve deceived batsmen in air or off wkt..but I never ‘cheated’ on Crkt ground..Cheers!”
Bedi has played 67 Tests for India in his career and has often been considered as one of the best spinners of all time.
