Cricketer Ravindra Jadeja's wife Rivaba Jadeja on Sunday joined the Bharatiya Janta Party (BJP) in Gujarat's Jamnagar.
Rivaba joined the BJP in the presence of Gujarat Cabinet Minister RCC Faldu, MP Poonamben and MLA Bakubhai Jadeja in Jamnagar ahead of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's visit to the State.
Last year, Rivaba was appointed as the head of Karni Sena's women’s wing in Gujarat.
This comes months after Rivaba and her husband met Prime Minister Modi at his official residence in New Delhi.
Modi had tweeted a photo of the couple with himself soon after the meeting.
"Had a wonderful interaction with noted cricket player Ravindrasinh Jadeja and his wife Rivaba," the PM tweeted.
The Indian cricketer is part of India's ODI squad that is facing Australia currently.
Jadeja was recently called back into the ODI squad after an impressive performance in the Test series. He slammed his maiden Test century which saw him claim a spot in the five-match ODI series against West Indies, which India won 3-1.
The all-rounder was also a part of the India squad which won a record 7th Asia Cup trophy.
