Afghanistan's golden boy Rashid Khan is now the top ODI all-rounder in the latest ICC rankings after his brilliant show in the recently concluded 2018 Asia Cup. The Afghans put up their best ever performances as they were responsible to knock out Sri Lanka and stun Bangladesh in the group matches.

Bangladesh all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan slipped to the second spot after his patchy performances and had to withdraw early after he suffered a finger injury.

Rashid's all-round performances in the Asia Cup made him the first from his country to reach the top spot in the ICC rankings. He also claims the top spot in the T20I bowler's rankings.

Rashid jumped six places to claim the No.1 rank as he took 10 wickets from five games at an average of 17.20 in addition to the 87 runs he scored, which included a match-winning unbeaten 57 against Bangladesh.

Rashid's fellow countrymate Mohammad Nabi also put up a brilliant performance to claim the third spot in the ICC all-rounder rankings.

Afghanistan opener Mohammad Shahzad has gained 19 slots to reach 36th position, his highest in two years, while spinner Mujeeb Ur Rahman has gained 15 slots to reach the eighth position.

Opener Rohit Sharma, who led his team to Asia Cup title in the absence of top-ranked Virat Kohli, on Sunday climbed two places up to a career-best second position to make it a 1-2 for India in the ICC ODI batting rankings.

This is for the second time that Sharma is in the second position, having first reached number two in July this year. He aggregated 317 runs in the tournament, which India won by beating Bangladesh in the final by three wickets.

Shikhar Dhawan, who was highest run-getter with 342 runs, gained four slots to reach fifth position.
