At the age of 19, Afghanistan spinner Rashid Khan cemented his name in the annals of cricket as the teenager became the youngest to top ICC Players Rankings. The right-handed leg-spinner played a crucial role in Afghanistan's 4-1 win over Zimbabwe in ODI series.
The teenager amassed 16 wickets against the African nation in the five-match ODI series, averaging 7.9 per wicket. Khan's recent performances earned him the top spot in the ICC ODI bowlers rankings as he shares the seat with India seamer Jaspirt Bumrah.

Khan's recent spells have made him the youngest player in men's cricket at just 7,092 days to claim the top spot across all formats (Test, ODI, T20I), including batting, bowling and all-rounder rankings. It was former Pakistan spinner Saqlain Mushtaq who held the record for over 20 years and achieved the No.1 rank at 7,683 days in January 1998.
Before Mushtaq, it was India's Master Blaster Sachin Tendulkar who held the record of becoming the youngest player as he accomplished the feat in 1994 when he topped the Test rankings. The cricket icon achieved the feat at the age of 7,878 days.
Australia's Sir Don Bradman had achieved the feat in 1931 at the age of 8,219 days which was soon overtaken by West Indies legend Gary Sobers (8,191 days) in 1959. Tendulkar surpassed Sobers after 35 years.
The Afghanistan teenage sensation made the frontlines in his performances in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2017 for Sunrisers Hyderabad and was currently retained by the Orange Brigade for a whopping 9 crores. The spinner collected 17 wickets in 14 matches last season with an average of 21.05.
