Legendary batsman Rahul Dravid's U-19 team suffered a stunning loss to Nepal in the ongoing U-19 Asia Cup which is being held at Kuala Lumpur. This is the first time in history that Nepal have defeated India in cricket at any level or format.
India and Nepal have encountered each other five times before, two in the U-19 World Cup and three in the U-19 Asia Cup where the men in blue have prevailed victorious each time.
India won the toss and opted to field, putting Nepal to bat where they placed a fighting total of 185/5 in 50 overs. India were all-out for 166 in 48.1 overs. It was Nepal's captain who was the all-round star as he collected four-wickets and smashed 88 runs in 101 balls.
Nepal's Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba and many other politicians have congratulated the young colts on a stunning victory against India.
India are placed in Group A of the Asia cup where they have beaten Malaysia by 202 runs on November 10. A defeat to Nepal places the Men in Blue in a tough spot as they take on a high-rated Bangladesh side on November 14. India still lead their respective group with two points.
