Meanwhile, Dhoni's prolonged poor run with the bat has seen him getting dropped India's T20 squad, meaning he will not be a part of India's 3-match T20 series against Australia.
The former captain is just one-run shy of completing 10,000 runs for India in the ODI format. Dhoni has amassed 10,173 runs in ODIs but 174 of those runs came for Asia XI in a three-match series against Africa XI in 2007.
