Highlights, Mumbai Indians vs Royal Challengers Bangalore, Match 31: MI win by 5 wickets
* Not quite totally unexpected. Mumbai were favourites to win the game and they did so, albeit stretching it to the 19th over. Bangalore were always a few runs light and that proved right in the end.
23.38 IST: Pawan Negi to Hardik Pandya, That's it! Mumbai have won it and Hardik Pandya has finished it in the 19th over. Full on off, Hardik flat-bats it to long on and takes a single. Mumbai win by 5 wickets.
23.36 IST: Pawan Negi to Hardik Pandya, SIX! Only a couple required now. This is ruthless from Hardik. Floated on off, Hardik smokes it over the mid-wicket fence for a maximum.
23.35 IST: Pawan Negi to Hardik Pandya, FOUR! Crunched! Flatter outside off, Hardik flat bats it through covers for a boundary. Only 12 required off 9 balls now.
23.34 IST: Pawan Negi to Hardik Pandya, SIX! Up, up and away!
* Pawan Negi into the attack again. Big risk. 3-0-25-0 so far.
23.31 IST: Mohammed Siraj to Krunal Pandya, OUT c sub b Mohammed Siraj. Mumbai have lost their fifth wicket.
23.28 IST: Mohammed Siraj to Hardik Pandya, FOUR! Easy peasy for Hardik. A short ball, outside off, Hardik smashes it over the bowler. One bounce and into the fence.
23.25 IST: Navdeep Saini to Hardik Pandya, FOUR!
23.20 IST: Navdeep Saini to Hardik Pandya, FOUR! Not the way Saini would have liked to start THE OVER. But definitely the way Mumbai wanted to start. Back of a length ball outside off, Hardik slaps it away over point for a boundary.
23.17 IST: Yuzvendra Chahal to Hardik Pandya, Short again from Chahal, Hardik pulls it away and gets off the mark. Chahal finishes with the figures of 4-0-27-2. He is once again amongst the wickets.
* STRATEGIC BREAK. Are we in for a thriller? Mumbai were cruising through but some quiet overs have pushed the required run rate above 9.5. Not that it is a concern for Mumbai but the last 27 balls have yielded just 21 runs and a wicket. Probably, the wicket of Surya could be a blessing in disguise for the home side as Hardik Pandya has come out to bat. There is Pollard in the shed as well.
23.11 IST: Yuzvendra Chahal to Suryakumar Yadav, OUT! Suryakumar Yadav holes out. Chahal with the breakthrough. Bangalore needed wicket and they have got it. They have not given Mumbai easy runs and the pressure has got to Suryakumar Yadav. Flighted delivery on off, Suryakumar Yadav tries to take the charge and go downtown. He gets a lot of height on it but it goes wide of long off. Navdeep Saini there settles under it and takes a very good catch in front of the ropes. 43 needed off 27 deliveries now. MI 129/4 in 15.3 Overs
23.05 IST: Pawan Negi to Suryakumar Yadav, FOUR! Poor bowling. A long hop, outside off, Surya goes back and cuts it behind point for a boundary! MI 123/3 in 14.2 Overs
23.02 IST: Moeen Ali to Krunal Pandya, Beautiful ball! Flighted outside off, the ball spins just a bit after pitching. Pandya looks to push it on the off side but it goes just past his outside edge. Parthiv goes up in appeal and so does the bowler. The umpire is not interested though. Virat Kohli, Moeen Ali and Parthiv Patel have a brief discussion about the review. They decide to go against it.
22.58 IST: Yuzvendra Chahal to Suryakumar Yadav, FOUR! Excellently played. Suryakumar Yadav knows where exactly the fielder are. It is a tossed up ball on middle and off, Suryakumar Yadav gets on one knee and sweeps it behind square for a boundary.
22.56 IST: Moeen Ali to Krunal Pandya, A bit of turn there. KP comes down the track again, looks to defend but the ball turns away and takes the leading edge. Does not carry to the bowler.
22.53 IST: Yuzvendra Chahal to Krunal Pandya, FOUR! On the leg side, Pandya plays the paddle, Siraj gives it a chase and tries to stop it with a dive. He cannot do so though and the ball goes to the fence.
22.52 IST: Yuzvendra Chahal to Ishan Kishan, OUT! Chahal has the last laugh! Ishan Kishan overcooks his idea of coming down the track and attacking the spinner.
22.50 IST: Yuzvendra Chahal to Ishan Kishan, SIX! Ishan just loves playing the spinners. He will attack them no matter how much it is turning. Floated on middle, Ishan Kishan comes down the track and lofts it over mid-wicket for a maximum.
22.48 IST: Moeen Ali to Suryakumar Yadav, SIX! Classic shot. Plenty of flight from Moeen and Surya is happy. Leans and lofts this from outside off, against the turn and all the way over sweeper cover!
22.43 IST: Pawan Negi to Ishan Kishan, SIX. Two in a row! Ishan Kishan is not backing away and has decided to take on the spinner. He comes down the track and lofts it over the mid-wicket region for another maximum.
22.42 IST: Pawan Negi to Ishan Kishan, SIX. It is turning too much so Kishan decides the best way to attack is to go after it. He comes down the track and lofts it straight into the sightscreen for a maximum.
22.39 IST: Moeen Ali to Quinton de Kock, OUT! LBW! Second wicket in the over and Moeen has got both the openers. This is the quicker one. The one which goes with the arm. MI 71/2 in 7.4 Overs
22.36 IST: Moeen Ali to Rohit Sharma, OUT! Cleaned up! Gone right through. Moeen strikes to give the first break for Bangalore. Can they find any rhythm from this? Sharp, sharp turn again. Outside off, Rohit goes back to cut but the ball spins in a furlong and goes past the inside edge to hit the middle stump! Not a big knock from Rohit but this 70-run stand has kept Mumbai on top. 102 more needed from 77 balls.
* Strategic Break - Mumbai well on top here. They are going over 11 rpo and have not lost a wicket yet. Bangalore need to get wicket here as it looks like this match is slipping away from them and only wickets can change that
22.26 IST: Navdeep Saini to Quinton de Kock, SIX! Pulled and pulled away for a biggie. Good length delivery on middle and off, Quinton picks it early and smokes it over mid-wicket for a maximum.

22.21 IST: Yuzvendra Chahal to Quinton de Kock, FOUR! Poor bowling, superb shot. Full and down the leg side, de Kock gets down and sweeps it over the gap at short fine leg and square leg for a boundary!
* Spin time. Yuzvendra Chahal into the attack.
22.18 IST: Mohammed Siraj to Rohit Sharma, FOUR! End of another expensive over for Bangalore. 12 runs off Siraj's first.
22.15 IST: Mohammed Siraj to Rohit Sharma, SIX! Smashed to third man! It is raining sixes here in Mumbai and these two are going after the Bangalore attack. Back of a length ball outside off, Rohit slashes it over the point fence for a maximum. MI 42/0 in 3.1 overs
22.11 IST: Umesh Yadav to Quinton de Kock, SIX! That is MASSIVE! Quinton just does that just brilliantly! This no luck and pure timing from de Kock. Back of a length ball on middle. De Kock picks the length early and whacks his pull over the fine leg fence for a mammoth six. MI 34/0 in 2.4 overs
22.10 IST: Umesh Yadav to Quinton de Kock, FOUR! Edged and FOUR! Luck just not going Bangalore's way. Full length delivery outside off, de Kock looks to go over the on side but gets a thick outside edge over the slip fielder for a boundary. MI 28/0 in 2.3 overs
22.09 IST: Umesh Yadav to Quinton de Kock, FOUR! Glorious cover drive by the South African. Deserved a boundary and got it as well. Full outside off, de Kock gets on his front foot and drives it for a boundary. MI 24/0 in 2.1 overs
22.04 IST: Navdeep Saini to Rohit Sharma, SIX! First six of the innings and Rohit Sharma is off the mark with a maximum. Shorter ba,ll from Saini, Rohit gets on his back foot and pulls it away over fine leg for a maximum. MI 15/0 in 1.1 overs
22.00 IST: Umesh Yadav to Quinton de Kock, FOUR! Poor bowling this from Umesh. With no fielder in the fine leg region. Umesh bowls it short on the body, de Kock guides it in his way towards fine leg for a boundary. MI 9/0 in 0.5
21.57 IST: Umesh Yadav to Quinton de Kock, FOUR! De Kock is off the mark and in some style. Full on middle, de Kock lofts it over the mid on fielder for a boundary. MI 5/0 in 0.4 overs
We are back for the chase. Rohit Sharma and Quinton de Kock are the openers for Mumbai. Umesh Yadav to start the proceedings with the new ball for Bangalore.
21.44 IST: Lasith Malinga to Umesh Yadav, A couple of byes to end the innings. A low full toss outside off, slower in pace, Umesh swings too hard but misses. De Kock collects and under-arms at the striker's end but misses. Malinga then collects and has a shy at the bowler's end but misses. Concedes an overthrow as the ball goes to Kieron Pollard at long off. BANGALORE FINISH ON 171/7!
21.42 IST: Lasith Malinga to Pawan Negi, OUT! Third wicket in the over!
21.39 IST: Lasith Malinga to Akshdeep Nath, OUT! Two in two for Mumbai and that is a stunning catch from Quinton de Kock! Virat Kohli just walks back into the dressing room after seeing that - shot or effort, cannot say.
21.38 IST: Lasith Malinga to AB de Villiers, OUT run out (Kieron Pollard). Bangalore have lost their fifth wicket.
* Direct hit! Has AB de Villiers been caught napping? He wanted the second but was sent back. Was he late in getting back?
21.36 IST: Lasith Malinga to AB de Villiers, SIX! That one is out of here and into the stands. Full toss on middle, AB de Villiers smokes this into the mid-wicket stand for a maximum.
* The phsyio is out in the middle to have a look at AB de Villiers. The mandatory helmet check is being done. AB looks alright though and seems fine to continue.

21.30 IST: Jasprit Bumrah to AB de Villiers, FOUR! Another AB special. Low full toss outside off, AB backs away and crunches this wide of mid off for a boundary. Nothing wrong with the ball. Bumrah missed his length by just an inch or two.
21.28 IST: Lasith Malinga to Marcus Stoinis, OUT! Malinga gets his second off the over and Marcus Stoinis departs for a duck. He has been outdone here by a very clever bowler.
21.26 IST: Lasith Malinga to AB de Villiers, SIX! Not a bad ball at all, but this is all class from AB. He walks across his stumps and Malinga looks to fire it down the leg side. It turns out to be a full toss but AB still connects with his paddle, lapping it over fine leg, right onto the third tier!
21.24 IST: Lasith Malinga to Moeen Ali, OUT! The 95-run stand is broken and more importantly for Mumbai a new batsman will come in. Bangalore needed Moeen to play through but he cannot do so.
21.23 IST: Jasprit Bumrah to Moeen Ali, Fifty for Moeen. The job is not done yet though and he needs to keep on accelerating and get his side to a big total. He gets to his fifty by flicking it towards mid-wicket.
21.19 IST: Jasprit Bumrah to AB de Villiers, Fifty for AB de Villiers. A very good knock under pressure from him. His third consecutive fifty. He though now needs to carry on and play till the end. He gets there due to midfield. A low full toss on off, AB does not time it well and hits it wide of long on, Pollard misfields allowing them to take three runs.
STRATEGIC BREAK. The last 4 overs have seen some surge from Bangalore. 50 runs have come in that period and all of a sudden, the visitors look good to get to 180. That will still take some getting though, as a wicket here might set the cat free amongst the pigeons. Remember, this is the Wankhede and even 200 can be chased down during the night. Will we see an AB special?
21.15 IST: Jason Behrendorff to Moeen Ali, SIX! 17 runs off it, just what Bangalore wanted. The last ball is full on off, Moeen takes the aerial route and heaves it over covers for a maximum. Says that being with the team has taught him a lot, mainly their work ethics. Feels that the pitch will do something in the first innings but then dew will make it easier to bat on in the second. Says that he gets a lot of net time even though he does not feature in the playing XI, citing that every squad member is treated in the same manner.

They need to runs on the board and that too at a good rate.
20.41 IST: Hardik Pandya to AB de Villiers, FOUR! Off the inside edge! Bangalore will take whatever they get at the moment. Outside off, on a length, de Villiers is in two minds, whether to play or leave and the indecision induces an inside edge. Luckily for him, the ball goes past the stumps to the fine leg fence. RCB 60/2 in 8.3 Overs

20.23 IST: Jason Behrendorff to Parthiv Patel, SIX! Almost a spectacular catch! Full marks to the effort there. Full marks to the effort there. Full and outside off, Parthiv flicks it towards deep mid-wicket. The ball goes at the rate of knotts and Ishan Kishan runs to his right and leaps but the ball bursts through his fingers past the ropes.
