Highlights, India vs Bangladesh, 1st T20I

Highlights, IND VS BAN: Bangladesh beat India by 7 wickets in the first T20I to take a 1-0 lead in the three-match series. Mushfiqur Rahim remained unbeaten on 60 as he guided the visitors to an emphatic victory at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi. Winning the toss, Bangladesh invited India to bat and proved the decision correct, as the Indian batsmen faced significant difficulty with the slower pace of the wicket. India were eventually restricted on 148. India gained an early breakthrough with Liton Das' wicket, but things went south soon as Rahim and Soumya Sarkar put the visitors in the hunt, before the Bangladesh wicketkeeper smashed four successive fours of Khaleel Ahmed's over to seal Bangladesh's win. (LIVE SCORECARD) (LIVE STREAMING)

Highlights, India vs Bangladesh, 1st T20I: BANGLADESH 154/3 in 19.3 overs (Rahim 60*, Mahmudullah 15*) beat INDIA (148/6) by 7 wickets

22.33 IST: The tigers have roared and how. This is a statement of intent from Bangladesh, but at the same time, Rohit Sharma and the management will be taking a hard look at the side's performances. One could pin-point Krunal Pandya's drop as the moment which turned the game, but Rishabh Pant's struggles with the bat, poor run-rate throughout the innings, and inconsistency in line and lengths from the bowlers are hard to miss.

22.22 IST: Dube to Mahmudullah, SIX! Bangladesh win! This is their first-ever win against India! Mahmudullah charges down the track and smacks the delivery towards long on to win it for Bangladesh. A great victory for the side which was otherwise written down after the absence of two of their best players, Shakib and Tamim.

22.21 IST: Khaleel to Rahim, FOUR! MAKE THAT FOUR! Mushfiqur Rahim has potentially won the game for Bangladesh. 18 OFF THE OVER!

22.20 IST: Khaleel to Rahim, FOUR! THREE SUCCESSIVE FOURS! Wide full toss and he simply guides it away to deep backward point. Easy runs for Rahim, and Bangladesh can sniff the victory now.

22.20 IST: Khaleel to Rahim, FOUR! FIFTY! Pitches it full and Rahim must have anticipated this. Rahim gets in the position to scoop and times it perfectly over the wicketkeeper.

22.17 IST: Khaleel to Rahim, FOUR! Short and he pulls it away. Same story as the previous over. Khaleel continues to pitch it short and Rahim continues to send them across for boundaries.

22.15 IST: Chahal to Mahmudullah, FOUR! A little short from Chahal. Mahmudullah plays the waiting game and pounces on the delivery at the perfect moment. Slaps it wide towards the long-off where Manish Pandey gives the chase, but fails. 13 from the over - an expensive one from India's point of view.

22.12 IST: Chahal to Rahim, FOUR! DROPPED! Could this be the match? Tossed up the leg-break and Rahim slog-sweeps it, but Pandya couldn't catch the ball!

22.10 IST: Mahmudullah is the new man in.

22.07 IST: Khaleel to Sarkar, OUT! BOWLED! The off-cutter! Sarkar has completely missed it. Length delivery and Sarkar played it absolutely wrong. He attempted to cut the ball but failed.

22.01 IST: Khaleel to Rahim, SIX! Short ball this time and the Bangladesh wicketkeeper hooks it impressively over the fine leg. Important runs for Bangladesh.

21.54 IST: Good over from Khaleel, only five from it. Also, excellent field placements from Rohit throughout the over. Brings the fine leg inside the circle for Sarkar, and keeps a fielder towards the backward point for Rahim.

Khaleel Ahmed into the attack.

21.48 IST: Pandya to Sarkar, SIX! Steps down and smacks it over the midwicket! This is good batting from Sarkar. Krunal pitches the delivery marginally outside the off-stump and Sarkar drags the shot to perfection.

Washington Sundar into the attack.

21.39 IST: Chahal to Rahim, FOUR! The leg-spinner concedes his first boundary on his 13th delivery. Good timing on the sweep as Rahim lofts it in the air towards the fine leg.

21.39 IST: Chahal's current figures read 2-0-2-1.

21.37 IST: Pandya to Rahim, FOUR! That has been sent brilliantly to the fine leg.

21.35 IST: NOT OUT! Rishabh Pant was confident that there was an edge, but there was no spike. India have lost their only review.

21.31 IST: Chahal to Sarkar, APPEAL FROM RISHABH PANT! He believes he has caught it. Rohit takes the review.

21.28 IST: Pandya to Rahim, FOUR! Reverse-sweep from the Bangladesh wicketkeeper and he connects it well. Hits the ball towards the backward point.

Krunal Pandya into the attack.

Mushfiqur Rahim is the new batsman.

21.23 IST: Chahal to Naim, OUT! What a comeback from Chahal. Frustrates Naim with limited room and forces him to go for the big hit. Naim mistimes it and the ball sails - not longer, but higher. Good catch from Dhawan and the trademark thigh-five follows.

21.22 IST: Chahal to Naim, clever bowling from Chahal here, and accurate on length. Not giving Naib room and also getting turn. Three successive dot balls.

Yuzvendra Chahal into the attack.

21.15 IST: Khaleel to Sarkar, FOUR! Sarkar welcomes Khaleel with a brilliant hit towards covers. The ball was short and Sarkar gets above it to smack it towards the cover boundary.

Khaleel Ahmed into the attack.

21.13 IST: Sundar to Naim, FOUR! EDGE! But it was a thick one and Rohit Sharma had no chance on the first slip. The ball travels to the third man boundary.

21.10 IST: Sundar to Sarkar, SIX! REVERSE SWEEP! Sarkar gets in the position way before the ball was bowled. Sundar puts the delivery in the line of the stumps. It was a top-edge but there wasn't a fielder on the third man - even if it were, he wouldn't have had a chance.

21.09 IST:  Deepak Chahar to Naim, FOUR! Slightly full but quite wide. Naim gets the chance to free his hands and he smashes the ball with an impressive cover drive. This one won't need chasing as the ball races towards the boundary.

21.06 IST: Deepak Chahar to Naim, SIX! Too straight from Chahar on the occasion. On the pad this time, and the debutant dismisses the ball towards deep square leg.

21.02 IST: Sundar to Naim, 2 runs. Excellent runs and presence of mind from the pair. It was a direct hit from Dube, but the ball rolled over slightly away from Sundar. The batsmen immediately went for a second, and by the time Sundar could pick the ball and throw towards Pant, the run was all but done.

20:51 IST: Chahar to Liton, OUT! Liton Das departs and Chahar dismisses the Bangladesh opener. Short and outside off and he cuts it to KL Rahul at covers.

20:50 IST: Liton Das and Mohammad Naim are at the crease. Liton Das is on strike. Deepak Chahar opens the attack for India. FOUR! Second ball, poor delivery and Liton capitalises on it to flick it through mid-wicket.

20.35 IST: Hossain to Pandya, SIX! India have finished the innings well. 30 from the last two overs, and this time it was Pandya's turn. Short and high, Pandya pulls it incredibly towards the square leg.

20.34 IST: Hossain to Sundar, SIX! Slower delivery and Sundar hoists it once again on the front foot! This time, though, he goes straight over the wicket to send the ball on the long-off boundary.

20.31 IST: Shafiul to Sundar, SIX! Short from Shafiul this time again, and Sundar gets under the delivery to pull it brilliantly over long-on.

20.30 IST: Shafiul to Pandya, FOUR! Short and wide from Shafiul and Pandya simply cuts it past the point. Much needed boundary.

20.27 IST: Shafiul to Rishabh, OUT! In dire need of quick runs, Rishabh Pant had no option but to go for the big hit. He had been struggling to time the ball and this one, slightly on the good length, was played on the long-on where Mohammad Naim took an easy catch.

20.21 IST: Hossain to Rishabh, FOUR! That's cheeky from the Indian wicketkeeper. Al-Amin takes the pace off but Rishabh waits for the ball to come to him. He times it impressively over the wicketkeeper's head.

20.17 IST: Mustafizur to Rishabh, FOUR! That was a quick delivery with width, and Rishabh cuts it brilliantly behind the square on the off-side for a four.

Krunal Pandya is the new man in.

20.14 IST: Afif to Dube, OUT! WHAT A CATCH! Dube was in position to flick the delivery behind the square, but the slow pace again traps the debutant. He plays with a straight bat instead, no timing, and the ball lofts. The ball did lob over the bowler's head but Afif travels quickly behind non-striker Rishabh Pant to take a one-handed stunner.

Shivam Dube is the new man in.

20.09 IST: Mahmudullah to Dhawan, RUN OUT! That's poor running from Rishabh Pant. The Indian youngster didn't see the ball and began to come back for the second, which prompted Dhawan to move as well. However, Pant sees the fielder and immediately back-tracks, while Dhawan had already crossed almost half-the-pitch.

20.06 IST: Mahmudullah to Dhawan, SIX! Down the ground! Dhawan slowly, but surely, getting on to the groove. A free swing of the bat from the opener this time and this one goes straight over the bowler's head.

19.58 IST: Mosaddek to Dhawan, FOUR! Much needed boundary for the opener. This was a half-tracker and Dhawan pulls it behind the square on the leg side.

19.56 IST: Afif to Dhawan, Dhawan places it towards point but Rishabh denies call for a single. The Indian opener may have held the end but he needs to up the run-rate now. 27 off 34 deliveries for Dhawan.

19.52 IST: Rishabh Pant is the new man in.

19.48 IST: Aminul to Iyer, OUT! CAUGHT! Iyer continued to target the leg-spinner, but this time, he fails to find the distance as he was caught marginally ahead of the long-on boundary. Islam had given the flight on the delivery and Iyer couldn't resist going for the hit.

19.45 IST: Sarkar to Iyer, FOUR! A full-toss delivery and Iyer plays it across. He intended to play it on the ground and times it brilliantly between midwicket and long-on.

19.40 IST: Aminul to Iyer, SIX! That's a monstrous hit! Full from Islam and Iyer hits it over the bowler's head over the long-off boundary. The ball sails into the second tier and the Delhi crowd is finding its voice again.

19.37 IST: Sarkar to Dhawan, FOUR! Poor delivery. Down the leg side and this one was an easy picking for Dhawan as he guides the ball towards the short fine leg.

Soumya Sarkar into the attack.

19.35 IST: Aminul to Iyer, SIX! Islam provides width on the occasion and Iyer has smacked it out of the park over the deep extra cover. The Mumbai batsman knows this ground well, for he spends close to two months here during his stint as the captain of Delhi Capitals!

19.32 IST: Aminul to Rahul, OUT! The leg-spinner strikes instantly! This time, he goes straight towards cover but fails to adjust himself to the pace, which had been a slot slower than he anticipated. An easy catch for captain Mahmudullah.

Aminul Islam into the attack.

19.27 IST: Shafiul to Rahul, FOUR! Beautiful wristwork. The Kotla pitch is slow, which is justifiable due to the lack of sunlight, and Rahul has been adjusting to the slow pace well. He attempted a similar shot a few overs ago - a pick-up shot towards square leg, but finally finds success this time.

19.25 IST: Mustafizur to Dhawan, FOUR! That's one way to release some pressure. Dhawan gets his first boundary.

Mustafizur Rahman into the attack.

19.14 IST: Shafiul to Rahul, FOUR! First four for KL Rahul! Short pitched, a little wide and Rahul smacks it square of the wicket. Lovely footwork on the shot. He initially moves towards the right and shifts his position at the perfect moment, timing the shot brilliantly.

19.11 IST: Hossain to Dhawan, pushes a slightly fullish delivery it towards the mid-off. Tight over, only two runs from it.

19.10 IST: KL Rahul is the new man in. Al-Amin Hossain takes the ball from the other end.

19.06 IST: OUT. It eventually turns out as an umpire's call, and the umpire had raised the finger in the first appeal.

19.05 IST: Shafiul to Rohit, HUGE LBW SHOUT, AND OUT! Rohit consults partner Shikhar Dhawan and takes the review.

19.03 IST: Shafiul to Rohit, FOUR! And with this four, Rohit Sharma becomes the highest run-getter in T20Is, going past Virat Kohli. [READ]

19.00 IST: Shafiul to Rohit, FOUR! Angles it down the leg side and Rohit plays his trademark wrist shot towards the short fine leg. What a start for India!

18.35 IST: Rohit Sharma: "We will have to access the wicket at the start to see what the fighting score is. This is an opportunity to test out players who have done well in domestic cricket. We have gone with three spinners, two medium-pacers and an allrounder in Dube."

18.32 IST: TOSS! Bangladesh have won the toss and elected to bowl at Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi.

18.19 IST: Shivam Dube makes his debut for India. A left-hand bat and a right-arm medium-pace bowler by trade, Dube's stock has risen immensely over the last couple of seasons. Despite failing to make an impact in the 2019 IPL for Royal Challengers Bangalore, the all-rounder came back strong in the domestic circuit and scored runs at a consistent basis. [READ]

17.45 IST: Hello and welcome to the live blog for the first T20I between India and Bangladesh at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi! Amidst significant speculations, the match is eventually taking place, and both the sides have reached the stadium. Rohit Sharma will lead the Indian team in the absence of Virat Kohli, while Mahmudullah is the captain of Bangladesh after Shakib Al Hasan was banned for two years following failure to report corrupt approaches.

Brief Preview: The youngsters on the fringes will line up for another World Twenty20 audition while a few seniors will try to get back into the groove when firm-favourite India take on Bangladesh in the series-opener in Delhi on Sunday. The ban imposed on Bangladesh's iconic all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan just before the tour has hogged the limelight in the build-up to the three-match series, as Mahmudullah leads the side which is also without opener Tamim Iqbal. The rising levels of smog in Delhi remained a key part of the pre-match press conferences as well, but both the sides will nevertheless take the field on November 3. (FULL PREVIEW)
