Highlights, West Indies vs Bangladesh, Live Cricket Score, 2019 World Cup, Match 23:

Highlights, West Indies vs Bangladesh, Match 23, 2019 World Cup: Hello and welcome to the updates from the game between West Indies and Bangladesh. Mashrafe Mortaza's men will have the psychological advantage when they face the West Indies, though both teams are sailing in the same boat as far as their World Cup campaign is concerned. Bangladesh beat West Indies as many as three times in tri-series that Ireland hosted ahead of the World Cup. Even though West Indies stars such as Chris Gayle and Andre Russell were not part of that series, Jason Holder's team still must be smarting from those three consecutive losses last month. Both teams are on three points from four games, having lost two games with one game each being a washout. Bangladesh, who last played on June 8 when they lost to England, will be itching to take the field after a forced break of one week with the game against Sri Lanka called off due to rain. They had the opportunity to score two points against a struggling Sri Lanka before the weather sealed their fate. (Match scorecard | West Indies vs Bangladesh)

2019 World Cup, Highlights, Match 23: Bangladesh (322/3) beat West Indies (321/8) by 7 wickets

22.50 IST: Shannon Gabriel to Liton Das, FOUR! Das finishes it off in style! Gabriel bowls it short and Das swivels and pulls it away from fine leg and bags a boundary. Emphatic win for Bangladesh. All smiles in their dug out. Customary handshakes taking place out in the middle. BANGLADESH HAVE CHASED DOWN 322 WITH 7 WICKETS IN HAND AND 51 BALLS TO SPARE!

22.45 IST: Jason Holder to Liton Das, FOUR! Dealing in boundaries is Das now. He stays back and then guides this through backward point and the ball races away. BAN 316/3 in 40.4 overs

22.42 IST: Holder to Liton Das, FOUR! The cover drive! Elegantly played! He is painting a Monalisa here! Holder bowls this full and outside off, Das leans into it and just times it through covers. The ball races away. BAN 309/3 in 40.1 overs

22.35 IST: Cottrell to Liton Das, FOUR! Another short ball and once again it is put away! Short and on the body, Das swivels and pulls it down to the fine leg fence. BAN 299/3 in 38.4 overs

22.32 IST: Shannon Gabriel to Shakib Al Hasan, A single to end! Full and on off, this is pushed towards mid off for one. 24 from the over, the most expensive over of this World Cup. 28 more needed.

22.30 IST: Shannon Gabriel to Shakib, EDGED and FOUR! 23 runs in 5 balls! Length and around off, the ball straightens. Shakib looks to defend but the ball flies off the outside edge and down to the third man fence. BAN 293/3 in 35.5 overs

22.28 IST: Shannon Gabriel to Liton Das, SIX! Third in a row! This is unreal stuff from Das. He is playing with the mind of the bowler. He expected a short one and shuffles right across. Gets it and he helps it on its way over the fine leg fence. BAN 288/3 in 37.3 overs

22.28 IST: Shannon Gabriel to Liton Das, SIX! Another one! This is even better! WOW! Das wants to end it in a hurry here. He makes room and Gabriel bowls it full. He smashes it over the long off fence for a maximum. BAN 282/3 in 37.2 overs

22.27 IST: Shannon Gabriel to Liton Das, SIX! Smashed away! Into the stands! lovely shot. A short ball by Shannon and Das is quickly onto the back foot. He pulls it high and handsome over the square leg fence. Runs needed below 50 now. BAN 276/3 in 37.1 overs

22.25 IST: Cottrell to Shakib, FOUR! On the pads once again! Easy pickings for a batsman of Shakib's calibre. He flicks it through backward square leg and the ball races away to the fence. BAN 270/3 in 37 overs

22.23 IST: Oshane Thomas to Shakib Al Hasan, FOUR! Up and over! 11 runs from this one. Runs needed below 60 now. Full and on middle, this is lofted over the mid on fielder for a boundary.

22.21 IST: Oshane Thomas to Liton Das, Fuller and on off, this is hit to mid off for one. Singles will do it for Bangladesh.

22.16 IST: Sheldon Cottrell to Liton Das, Fifty for Das now! Talk about grabbing the opportunity with both hands. He was picked in the team for this game and has made an impact. He has played as the perfect foil for Shakib. He gets to his third ODI half ton by working this length ball on middle through mid-wicket for one.

22.12 IST: Oshane Thomas to Shakib Al Hasan, FOUR! Hundred for Shakib! Cometh the hour, cometh the man! Bangladesh's best player has delivered when his team needed him the most. A must win game and a big target to chase and Shakib has risen to the occasion. What a way to get to his ton, what a shot to get his ton! Wow! Oshane bowls this full and outside off, he creams it, absolutely creams it through covers and the ball races away to the fence. Raises his bat to soak in the applause. He would love to stay there til the end. BAN 248/3 in 34 overs

22.08 IST: Oshane Thomas to Liton Das, FOUR! Another top edge and another four! Just not West Indies' day today. Short and around off again, Das looks to whip it but the ball flies off the top edge and goes to the third man fence.

Oshane Thomas is back on! His figures read 4-0-31-0.

22.04 IST: Sheldon Cottrell to Liton Das, SIX! The 100-run stand is up in style! This is probably the partnership which wins the game for Bangladesh. Sheldon bangs this short and outside off.

22.01 IST: Chris Gayle to Liton Das, FOUR! Lovely shot! A high risk shot as it is against the turn. Full and around off, Das plants his front foot forward and strokes it through wide mid off for a boundary.

21.57 IST: Chris Gayle to Liton Das, FOUR! Nicely played! Picked his spot to perfection. Das comes down the track and chips it over mid-wicket, no one in the deep and the ball races away to the fence.

There is a slight delay. Shakib is getting some treatment on his left arm. Not quite sure what has happened. Might be cramps.

21.52 IST: Jason Holder to Liton Das, JUST OVER! West Indies desperately need a wicket and Holder almost provides that. A length ball outside off, Das looks to play the pull, but then checks his shot. It ends up being a short-arm jab and just lobs over mid on. Oshane Thomas has to cover some ground from mid on running back, but the batsmen take just a single.

21.49 IST: Chris Gayle to Liton Das, FIVE WIDES! The third of the innings! This is down the leg side, Das lets it be. The keeper fails to collect it and it races to the fence.

Chris Gayle has the ball in his hand at the moment. The umpires though are not happy about something. Maybe with the fact that Russell is continuously going off the field. They have asked Fabien to go back and Russell to come onto the field.

DRINKS BREAK.

21.43 IST: Jason Holder to Shakib Al Hasan, NOT OUT! Hope never collected the ball! Not sure why they went up and not sure why Shai appealed. This is worked towards mid-wicket and the batters take one. Liton starts off for a second but is sent back by Shakib. The mid-wicket fielder gets to the ball and then fires it to the keeper. Liton seems to have dislodged the bails and then there is an appeal. Replays roll in and they show that Hope did not have the ball in his gloves and even if he had, Das was in with a dive.

21.40 IST: Jason Holder to Shakib Al Hasan, TOP EDGE AND FOUR! Shakib continues riding his luck. Shorter in length and on off, Shakib looks to pull but gets a top edge over the keeper's head. No fielder there and a boundary results. Also, with that boundary, he is now once again the leading run scorer of the Tournament. BAN 200/3 in 29 overs

21.37 IST: Shannon Gabriel to Shakib Al Hasan, FOUR! Make that three boundaries in the over! Short and on middle, bounces at a good height for Shakib. He pulls it through mid-wicket and it races away.

21.36 IST: Shannon Gabriel to Shakib Al Hasan, FOUR! Poor ball this time, easy pickings! Down the leg side and Shakib helps it on its way to the fine leg fence. Second boundary in the over.

21.35 IST: Shannon Gabriel to Shakib Al Hasan, FOUR! Another excellent shot! Shakib has played the most difficult shot in the game, the on-drive. Length and on middle, Shakib shows the full face of the bat and strokes it down to the long on fence. Another 50-run stand up for Bangladesh. Important one as the two joined association when Bangladesh had lost a couple of wickets quickly. They need to continue though.

21.30 IST: Jason Holder to Shakib Al Hasan, FOUR! Bludgeoned! Shakib has just dispatched Holder there. He makes room and Holder bowls it full, this is smashed back past the bowler for a boundary.

* Jason Holder is back on! His figures read 5-0-31-0.

21.20 IST: Andre Russell to Liton Das, FIVE WIDES! Way too short again and this takes off after pitching. Das looks to upper cut it but the ball bounces over the bat and over the keeper's glove. Spoils the over completely.

21.14 IST: Shannon Gabriel to Liton Das, Good cricket all around there! A good short one on middle, Liton plays it by taking one hand off the handle towards cover and the batters take one.

21.08 IST: Andre Russell to Liton Das, FOUR! Adding salt to the wound here! Yes, it is Liton Das who hit the boundary but it will still hurt Russell. He bangs it short and on middle, Das pulls it nicely over mid-wicket for a boundary.

21.06 IST: Sheldon Cottrell to Shakib Al Hasan, In the air... but short! Heart in the mouth moment for Shakib and Bangladesh. This is short and on the body. Shakib looks to pull but gets a top edge. It flies towards square leg who runs across to his left but the ball lands short. It hits his thigh and stops and a single is taken.

21.04 IST: Andre Russell to Liton Das, On middle, Das looks to flick but gets an inside edge onto his pads. Das has not started confidently here.

21.02 IST: Andre Russell to Shakib Al Hasan, Fifty for Shakib! He holds the key for his side here. Needs to score a big one. His 45th in ODIs and his golden patch in this World Cup continues. Russell bowls it on the pads, Shakib works it to fine leg and takes one.

Andre Russell is back on! 3-0-23-1 so far. He is certainly not 100 percent. Comes jogging in, then bails out. Goes for another jog and tests his hamstring and knee. Here he comes again...

20.59 IST: Sheldon Cottrell to Shakib Al Hasan, FOUR! Not convincing but Bangladesh won't care! Fuller and on middle, it is the slower one. Shakib is way too early in the stroke. He though gets enough on it to clear the bowler and for it to race away to the fence.

Liton Das walks out to bat. He has been picked in the team in this game. Can he make an impact?

20.53 IST: Oshane Thomas to Mushfiqur Rahim, OUT c Shai Hope b Oshane Thomas. Bangladesh have lost their third wicket.

20.51 IST: Oshane Thomas to Shakib Al Hasan, FOUR! Lovely placement! Slightly shorter and outside off, Shakib cuts it past point and away from third man. Second boundary in the over. Poor from Thomas, West Indies would have sensed an opportunity to pull things back after the wicket but once again the pressure has been released.

20.50 IST: Oshane Thomas to Shakib Al Hasan, FOUR! What a shot! Short of a length outside off, Shakib gets on top of the bounce and cuts it in front of point for a boundary! 197 more needed from 191 balls.

20.44 IST: Sheldon Cottrell to Tamim Iqbal, OUT! Tamim is short! Sheldon Cottrell has provided something outstanding. West Indies needed some spark and Cottrell may have just provided it.

20.36 IST: Oshane Thomas to Shakib Al Hasan, FOUR! Short ball and on middle, Shakib gets on top of the bounce and pulls it over the mid-wicket fielder and bags a boundary.

DRINKS! Bangladesh are motoring along quite well here! Their openers started off nicely, Sarkar did fall but Shakib has come out all guns blazing. They are way ahead of the run rate required and all they need now is some sensible batting. The West Indian players look like they have ran out of ideas. Their short ball bowling has not worked and all of a sudden the bowling does not look threatening. They need someone to put their hand up and provide the magic or the game will soon slip out of their hands.

20.28 IST: Shannon Gabriel to Shakib Al Hasan, Excellent example of how to use the pace of the bowler there! Shakib just waits for the ball to come to him and then opens the face of the bat. Guides it past point. Third man runs to his left and keeps it down to two.

20.22 IST: Shannon Gabriel to Tamim Iqbal, FOUR! That has gone to the fence in a jiffy! 100 up for Bangladesh and the 50-run stand has been brought up in style. They have not let the momentum slip. Another excellent shot by Tamim. He once again stands tall and slaps it, right off the middle this time through extra cover for a boundary.

20.17 IST: Oshane Thomas to Shakib Al Hasan, FOUR! Width on offer and Shakib pounces on it. Short and outside off, Shakib slaps it through point and the ball races away. Too easy at the moment for Bangladesh.

Oshane Thomas is on now! He has been the best bowler for West Indies in this tournament. He needs to work some magic here.

20.14 IST: Shannon Gabriel to Shakib Al Hasan, FOUR! Lucky boundary! Everything going Bangladesh's way at the moment. Gabriel bowls it short around middle, Shakib looks to pull with one leg up in the air. A top edge is induced and it goes on the bounce into the fine leg fence.

20.12 IST: Shannon Gabriel to Tamim Iqbal, Almost plays it on! Back of a length around off, Tamim plays away from his body. He gets an inside edge onto his body. The ball rolls towards the off side.Shakib wants a run but is sent back in time by his partner.

Shannon Gabriel is on now! West Indies need a wicket, can he provide it?

20.09 IST: Andre Russell to Tamim Iqbal, FOUR! Another aggressive shot. Clearly this is a plan. Get as many runs before rain comes. It has gone very dark and an interruption looks imminent. A short ball, outside off, angling away, Tamim drags this over mid-wicket and the ball trickles into the ropes.

20.07 IST: Andre Russell to Tamim Iqbal, FOUR! Stand and deliver! Not all that short, fractionally short of a fuller length, Tamim stands tall and punches it through the covers!

POWERPLAY 2 time. 4 fielders allowed outside the 30-yard circle till the 40th over.

20.05 IST: Jason Holder to Tamim Iqbal, FOUR! Ends Powerplay 1 with a boundary! Poor delivery. This is short and on the body, Tamim helps it on its way over short fine leg and it races away. Bangladesh are 70 for 1 after the first ten, they are way ahead from where West Indies were. 252 needed in 240.

20.02 IST: Jason Holder to Shakib Al Hasan, FOUR! Ho ho ho! Shakib hits that in style! A length ball outside off, Shakib jumps down the track and hammers it through mid off for a boundary!

20.00 IST: Jason Holder to Tamim Iqbal, FOUR! You bowl there to Tamim and he would hit you all day! Short and outside off, Iqbal goes back and slaps it through point for a boundary.

Shakib Al Hasan walks in at number 3, replacing Sarkar.

19.57 IST: Andre Russell to Soumya Sarkar, OUT! Russell gets his revenge! A much-needed wicket for West Indies. The high-flying opening stand has been cut short. Russell goes short again but this is on the body. Sarkar looks to guide it down to third man. He has been doing it so well till now but this time misreads the length. It is too close to the body and hence, the ball hits the higher part of the bat and lobs towards second slip where Gayle takes it with a theoretical dive.

19.56 IST: Andre Russell to Soumya Sarkar, SIX! What a shot! Outrageous! Short and outside off, Sarkar throws everything at it. It flies over the third man fence for a biggie. 50 up for Bangladesh, they are off to a flier.

19.51 IST: Jason Holder to Tamim Iqbal, Back of a length on off, Tamim guides it towards third man where Sheldon is busy putting on his jacket. He then realizes that the ball is coming towards him, lets it hang around his neck and fields the ball. A single taken.

Tamim pulls out right at the end! Not sure what the reason was. Holder will have to reload now.

19.46 IST: Andre Russell to Soumya Sarkar, Goes short and Sarkar may have been expecting it. He arches and tries to upper cut but misses.

First bowling change. An early one. Andre Russell has been given the ball. The Windies are a bowler light today, with Brathwaite not playing. Will Russell bowl 10 overs? Will Gayle roll his arm over?

19.45 IST: Jason Holder to Soumya Sarkar, Good stop! This is guided towards gully where Gayle dives to his left and stops it. Can't stop the single though.

19.42 IST: Jason Holder to Tamim Iqbal, On the shorter side, Tamim stays back and pulls it through square leg for one.

19.38 IST: Sheldon Cottrell to Soumya Sarkar, FOUR! 10 from the first two balls of the over! This is a poor ball. Down the leg side, Sarkar works it fine and the ball races to the fence.

19.37 IST: Sheldon Cottrell to Soumya Sarkar, SIX! That is out of here! He has nailed that! Slightly short and on middle, Sarkar picks the length early, he is on the front foot as he pulls it but gets proper connection and sends it over the mid-wicket stand. First of the innings!

19.32 IST: Jason Holder to Tamim Iqbal, Another lovely delivery! Starts this from outside off and then gets it to come back in a long way. Tamim looks to flick but misses to get hit on the pads. A huge shout but that is missing leg.

19.30 IST: Sheldon Cottrell to Tamim Iqbal, And he does go short! Tamim though was ready for it. He takes on the challenge of pulling it but mistimes it through mid-wicket for two.

19.27 IST: Jason Holder to Soumya Sarkar, FOUR! Up and over! Lovely shot by Sarkar. It is slightly fuller on off, Sarkar nonchalantly lofts it over covers and the ball races away to the fence. Spoils the over BAN 11/0 in 2 overs

19.25 IST: Jason Holder to Tamim Iqbal, A huge shout but the umpire shakes his head! That was a peach of a delivery. This is Holder's strength. He swings the new ball, he should not be bowling it short but should be getting it up there. Lands this on the fuller side and this one comes back in sharply after pitching on leg. Tamim fails to adjust to the inswing. The ball hits him high on the pad. Hope takes it with a dive to his right. Holder is appealing but the umpire shakes his head. Holder then looks at Hope who indicates it is high. Rightly so as Hawk Eye confirms the same.

Jason Holder to bowl with the second new ball.

19.21 IST: Sheldon Cottrell to Tamim Iqbal, FOUR! Stand and deliver! That is some shot to get off the mark. It is a length ball and there is width on offer outside off. Tamim strokes it on the up and through covers. No stopping that and the ball races away. First of the chase.

19.20 IST: Sheldon Cottrell to Tamim Iqbal, Starts off with a short one and around off, moves away further. Tamim lets it go.

We are back for the chase! The West Indies team are out in a huddle. They now make their way out now. Tamim Iqbal and Soumya Sarkar are the openers for Bangladesh. Sheldon Cottrell has the first new ball in hand. Here we go...

Hmmm... tough question. Which side will be happier at the moment? West Indies started slowly, then began to compensate, lost their way, got a couple of cameos, lost their way again but in the end, finished strongly. 321 is a good score but Bangladesh will feel they can chase it down.

18.48 IST: Mohammad Saifuddin to Darren Bravo, OUT! Corker of a yorker and Saifuddin ends his spell with a wicket. It is a slower ball, at 126 kph, Bravo is early into his swing and misses. The Zing bails illuminate. WEST INDIES FINISH ON 321/8!

18.40 IST: Mustafizur Rahman to Oshane Thomas, Full on middle, Thomas whips it towards mid-wicket. Should have been just a single but Soumya Sarkar running to his right fumbles and concedes the second.

Is that a hit wicket? Looks like Thomas has hit the stumps with his bat. Referred upstairs...

18.34 IST: Mohammad Saifuddin to Darren Bravo, SIX! Little Bravo goes big!

18.30 IST: Mustafizur Rahman to Shai Hope, OUT c Liton Das b Mustafizur Rahman. West Indies have lost their seventh wicket.

18.27 IST: Mustafizur Rahman to Darren Bravo, A short ball, around middle, coming in with the angle, Bravo plays a Nataraja pulls shot through fine leg for a single.

Mustafizur Rahman is back on. 7-0-50-2 so far.

18.22 IST: Mohammad Saifuddin to Darren Bravo, Down the leg side, helped through mid-wicket for another single.

18.19 IST: Mehedi Hasan to Shai Hope, Full and outside off, chipped down to long off for another single. Not a bad gamble. Just 5 runs from that over.

Gamble. Spinner in the 45th over. Mehedi Hasan is given the ball. 8-0-52-0 so far.

Darren Bravo walks in at number 8, replacing his skipper. Can he channel his CPL exploits?

18.12 IST: Mohammad Saifuddin to Jason Holder, OUT! Caught! Holder departs and this could dent the total big time.

Mohammad Saifuddin returns. 6-1-39-1 so far.

18.08 IST: Mashrafe Mortaza to Jason Holder, FOUR! Almost a catch! Should he stayed back and stopped the boundary instead of going for the catch?

18.06 IST: Mashrafe Mortaza to Jason Holder, SIX! Up, up and away! Captain dismisses captain over long on!

Mashrafe Mortaza brings himself back on. Perfect stage to take control. Get Holder and perhaps even 300 could be difficult. 7-1-24-0 so far.

18.05 IST: Mustafizur Rahman to Jason Holder, FOUR! Another short ball, Holder stands tall and pulls it through mid-wicket for a boundary.

18.02 IST: Mustafizur Rahman to Jason Holder, Full and outside off, Jason looks to go inside out but skews it. A top edge is induced but it lands in no man's land. By the time long off can get around to his left, two runs are taken.

17.59 IST: Shakib Al Hasan to Jason Holder, FOUR! Long levers from Holder and he drives it through the covers!

17.58 IST: Shakib Al Hasan to Jason Holder, SIX! Up and over mid on! Holder gets off the mark in style!

POWERPLAY 3 time and Jason Holder comes out as well. 5 fielders allowed outside the 30-yard circle till the end. Shakib Al Hasan is back on too.

17.55 IST: Mustafizur Rahman to Andre Russell, OUT c Mushfiqur Rahim b Mustafizur Rahman. West Indies have lost their fifth wicket.

Butcher time! Andre Russell strides out. The stage is perfectly set. 63 balls left. The target is 350. Ready to load his weapon of mass destruction.

17.51 IST: Mustafizur Rahman to Shimron Hetmyer, OUT! Taken in the deep! Hetmyer falls after a whirlwind knock. His innings has given the West Indies some much-needed impetus. It is another cutter from the Fizz but Shimron does not pick it.

17.46 IST: Mehedi Hasan to Shai Hope, The batsman has played it towards mid-wicket. The batsmen have run through for a single.

17.42 IST: Mosaddek Hossain to Shimron Hetmyer, SIX! That is 104 metres on the radar and it is the biggest one of the tournament! Beats Russell's 103 metre one against Australia. Short and around middle, Hetmyer rocks back and pulls it over mid-wicket!

17.42 IST: Mosaddek Hossain to Shimron Hetmyer, FOUR! Another boundary.

17.36 IST: Saifuddin to Hetmyer, SIX! Smashed and Hetmyer is enjoying himself out here! Hetmyer is bringing in on. Full and on middle, Shimron gets down and slogs it massively over mid-wicket! 17 from the over, 36 from the last 2! My colleague Shlok just mentioned by mistake at the start of this over that West Indies would target 80 runs in overs 36-40. Is his voice revelling in Taunton? WI 210/3 in 36 overs

17.34 IST: Saifuddin to Hetmyer, SIX! 200 comes up for West Indies! SLAM! A short ball, around middle and leg, Hetmyer swivels and pulls it over backward square leg! WI 204/3 in 35.3 overs

17.28 IST: Mustafizur to Hope, 5 byes! What an over it is turning out to be. This is a bonus. Bouncer, well over everyone. Mustafizur bowls a short one but the ball shoots up from that length and keeps on rising and rising to beat the jump of the keeper and the ball races to the fine leg fence. WI 189/3 in 34.3 overs

17.26 IST: Mustafizur to Hope, FOUR! To backward squre leg! His favourite place to smash! Hope this time pulls this short ball handsomely to deep square leg for one bounce into the fence. WI 180/3 in 34.2 overs

17.26 IST: Mustafizur to Hope, SIX! Whacked! Up and over long off! Quite Agressive from Hope. Rahman bowls one on a length and Hope puts on his dancing shoes to loft this through the line over long off for a maximum. WI 180/3 in 34.2 overs

17.21 IST: Saifuddin to Hetmyer, FOUR! That is a cracking shot. Short ball, around middle and leg, Hetmyer pulls it through mid-wicket. WI 170/3 in 33.1 overs

17.19IST: Shakib to Hetmyer, FOUR! Full and down the leg side, Hetmyer sweeps it through fine leg for a boundary! WI 165/3 in 32.5 overs

17.16 IST: Shakib Al Hasan to Nicholas Pooran, OUT! In the air... taken! Pooran holes out. He walks back after getting off to a start. A good wicket for Bangladesh as he was looking good and has also been in form. Nothing wrong with him playing this shot to be honest, it was in his arc. Full and on middle, Pooran goes down on one knee and looks to clear the long on fence, his bat turns in hands due to which he does not get the timing he would have liked. There is more height than distance on it and Sarkar at long on takes a good catch. Bangladesh once again get a timely wicket due to which the Windies are not able to get ahead in this game.WI 159/3 in 32.2 overs

17.08 IST: Shakib Al Hasan to Shai Hope, The batsman has punched the ball off the back foot. They pick up a single. The partnership is looking quite dangerous now with Pooran taking charge and Hope rotating the strike constantly.

17.05 IST: Mehedi Hasan to Nicholas Pooran, SIX! On the roof! Pooran's intentions are clear. Attack the spinners.

17.02 IST: Shakib Al Hasan to Shai Hope, Full and outside off, driven straight to cover.

17.01 IST: Shakib Al Hasan to Shai Hope, Full and outside off, driven through mid off for one more.

16.58 IST: Mehedi Hasan to Nicholas Pooran, FOUR! Nice shot. Tossed up outside off, Pooran leans and drives it through the covers!

16.56 IST: Mehedi Hasan to Shai Hope, Half century for Shai Hope now. His 12th in this format. Before entering this game, Shai was averaging in the 90s against Bangladesh. Adds more runs to his tally. Gets there with a push through point for a run.

16.50 IST: Mosaddek Hossain to Nicholas Pooran, FOUR!

16.47 IST: Shakib Al Hasan to Evin Lewis, OUT! Caught in the deep! No century for Lewis and the Bangladeshis have broken through.

16.27 IST: Mustafizur Rahman to Evin Lewis, FOUR! Top edge and a boundary! Poor delivery! Short and down the leg side, Lewis looks to pull but gets a top edge and it races to the fine leg fence.

16.24 IST: Mosaddek Hossain to Shai Hope, Hossain gets away with one there. This is short and on middle, Hope goes back and pulls it but towards square leg who makes a good stop diving to his right. Just needed to beat that fielder and it would have been a boundary.

Mosaddek Hossain is on now! He has a knack of picking wickets and Bangladesh need one here.

16.20 IST: Mustafizur Rahman to Shai Hope, Goes full, looking to hit the pads of Hope. The batter gets his bat down in time and works it to mid-wicket.

16.18 IST: Mehedi Hasan to Shai Hope, FOUR! Finds the gap. Not a bad ball. It is fractionally short of full but Hope picks the length in a trice, goes back and punches it through the covers. No soul in the deep.

This is taking longer than expected. Mosaddek seems to be wanting his left shoulder checked and the umpires have taken this opportunity to call for a Drinks Break.

16.12 IST: Mehedi Hasan to Evin Lewis, Tossed up outside off, Lewis drives this through the covers. Mosaddek Hossain covers good ground to his right and slides to stop the ball but while doing so, gets hurt. He is not comfortable and is on his haunches and calls for the physio. Shakib comes and checks on him as well.

16.08 IST: Mustafizur Rahman to Shai Hope, Full and outside off, played beautifully through the covers but there is protection at sweeper. Just a single.

16.03 IST: Mehedi Hasan to Evin Lewis, Huge shout for LBW, turned down! Mortaza talks long and hard with Mehedi and Rahim but eventually does not take it. It seemed to be pitching outside leg and hitting outside leg as well. Lewis looked to sweep and the ball went off something towards fine leg. The reason we are saying 'something' is because the umpire has signalled as runs. Looked like it hit the pads though. Two taken.

15.59 IST: Mashrafe Mortaza to Evin Lewis, FOUR! PUMMELED! Lewis is slowly opening up now. A short ball, outside off, begging to be hit, Lewis camps back and pulls it over mid-wicket, one bounce and into the fence!

15.53 IST: Mehedi Hasan to Shai Hope, Full and tossed up outside off, pushed straight to cover.

15.50 IST: Mashrafe Mortaza to Evin Lewis, That ball has struck the batsman on the thigh pad. Two runs added to the total. The umpire signals leg byes.

15.48 IST: Mashrafe Mortaza to Evin Lewis, SIX! There comes the first counter-punch. Full and outside off, Lewis spots the slower ball, 128 kph, waits for it and lofts it nonchalantly over long off!

15.42 IST: Mashrafe Mortaza to Shai Hope, Around off, this one comes in as well, cramps Hope for room but he adjusts well and taps it towards point.

15.38 IST: Mustafizur Rahman to Shai Hope, FOUR! Solid, solid stroke from Hope. Spoils the over and makes it a good one for West Indies. Back of a length on off, Hope stands tall and pushes it off the back foot through covers for a boundary. WI 29/1 in 8 Overs

15.36 IST: Mustafizur Rahman to Evin Lewis, Good shot but for no runs! Fuller and tailing back in into the pads, Evin works it but straight to the man at mid-wicket.

Mustafizur Rahman is into the attack now. He has been the gun bowler for Bangladesh in this tournament. Can he get another scalp for them here.

15.32 IST: Mashrafe Mortaza to Shai Hope, On the off pole again, Hope guides it to point.

15.30 IST: Mohammad Saifuddin to Evin Lewis, FOUR! Dispatched! Short and wide outside off, Lewis loves it there. He goes back and slaps it hard through point for a boundary. This is a good over for West Indies.

15.27 IST: Mohammad Saifuddin to Shai Hope, FOUR! Poor length and it has been put away! Not sure why Saifuddin went short. It won't trouble the batter at his pace. Hope goes back and pulls it hard through mid-wicket and the ball races away to the fence. First boundary for Hope.

15.25 IST: Mashrafe Mortaza to Shai Hope, A leg bye to end the 5th over! This is on the pads, Hope looks to flick but misses. The ball brushes the pads and rolls towards fine leg. Hope runs the first one very hard but has to settle for the single.

15.23 IST: Mashrafe Mortaza to Evin Lewis, Good running! We will see this a lot more after Gayle's dismissal. This is on off, Lewis pushes it to mid off and a run is taken.

15.22 IST: Mohammad Saifuddin to Shai Hope, A dot to end a terrific over by Saifuddin, a wicket maiden. He lands it on off and gets it to shape away a little. Hope defends it onto the ground.

Shai Hope is the new man in. He has been exceptional this year. He needs to play another good knock for his side.

15.17 IST: Mohammad Saifuddin to Chris Gayle, OUT! EDGED AND TAKEN! Saifuddin gets the big fish. Gayle is out of here without making an impact. A well-deserved wicket for MS and he set the batsman up beautifully. He kept bringing the ball back in till now and suddenly gets this one to angle across. The length and line is also perfect. He bowls it just around off. Gayle once again plays for the inswing which means he plays inside the line. The ball kisses the outside edge and goes low to the left of Rahim who takes a nice diving catch. Bangladesh are elated and this is the ideal start for them after electing to bowl.

15.13 IST: Mashrafe Mortaza to Evin Lewis, FOUR! In the gap and it races to the boundary! First of the game! Back of a length around off, Lewis stands tall, plays it late and guides it through cover-point and the ball races away to the fence. Mashrafe was a touch shorter there and it is easy pickings at his pace.

15.11 IST: Mohammad Saifuddin to Chris Gayle, Well bowled! Starts this from outside off and then gets it to shape back in. Gayle initially looks to play it but then lets it be.

Mohammad Saifuddin to bowl from the other end, with the second new ball.

15.05 IST: Mashrafe Mortaza to Chris Gayle, A maiden to begin with by Mashrafe! Another length ball and it is pitched on off, slanting away. Gayle shoulders arms to it.

15.00 IST: Chris Gayle will take the strike. Mashrafe Mortaza bowls the first over.

14.57 IST: Right. We're done with the national anthems. Let the game begin!

14.52 IST: The players are out for the national anthems.

14.33 IST: Bangladesh have won the toss and opted to bowl first.

Match preview:  After suffering two defeats in their last three fixtures, both West Indies and Bangladesh will aim to return back to winning ways when they face each other in their crucial World Cup tie at the Cooper Associates County Ground today. Both teams announced themselves at the ongoing tournament with convincing victories, but failed to build on to that success. Windies lost their matches against Australia and England, while their game against South Africa was washed out. Their bowlers have performed reasonably well in all their matches, but it's their batting which has left the fans disappointed. On the other hand, Bangladesh's success has revolved around Shakib Al Hasan. The number one ODI all-rounder has been the backbone of Bangladesh batting.
