Live Cricket Score KXIP vs SRH, IPL 2019 Live Match: They should have won and they did win but boy, did Punjab make a royal mess of a simple run chase. At the second strategic break, with 32 needed from 4 overs and 9 wickets in hand, it should not have gone down to 11 required in the final over. However, Rahul kept his cool in the end and saw his team through. The second-wicket stand of 114 between Rahul and Agarwal never let them be in the game and the last few moments were just because Punjab lost their cool. Sandeep Sharma was excellent with his 2/21 in his 4 overs while Rashid gave just 20 runs in his 4 but just took the solitary wicket of Gayle. Wickets were needed in heaps and that, Hyderabad did not get. At the end, Punjab cruised to victory with a 6-wicket win over Hyderabad. (LIVE MATCH SCORECARD)

22.58 IST: FOUR AND FIFTY! Fifty for KL Rahul. It has been a very good and sensible knock from him. He has looked in no danger and has done really well so far. Now he needs to stay there and see his team through. Shorter ball on off and middle, Rahul pulls it hard between deep mid-wicket and long on. Manish Pandey comes from long on and tries to save it with a dive. He misfields it and the ball goes away to the fence. KXIP 102/1 in 13 overs

Rashid Khan gets to the ball and has a shy at the bowler's end. He hits bull's eye. The umpire takes it upstairs but replays show Mayank was well in. 17 runs off the over. A very expensive one in the context of the game.

* Strategic Break - The contest is evenly poised at the moment. Punjab have lost Chris Gayle but Mayank Agarwal and KL Rahul have done well to steady the ship. Punjab require 89 in 66 so the run rate should not be a concern if these two go along.

He gets it to shape away a shade as Rahul mistimed his drive through the line. It flies off the outer half of his bat and goes over the infield. Kaul runs across to his right from third man, puts in a dive but ends up pushing it towards the rope.

He brings the leggie inside the Powerplay and Rashid gives him the prized scalp of Gayle. Rashid floats it full on middle, Gayle clears his front leg and looks to clear long on. Deepak Hooda runs to his right and slides to take a wonderful catch. Just the start Hyderabad wanted. Not the start Punjab wanted though.

22.07 IST: Bhuvneshwar Kumar to Chris Gayle, SIX! The Jamaican giant explodes and sends this one packing over long on. That's humongous. The delivery is in the line of the stumps and is a bit on the shorter side. Enough for the West Indian to swing his big biceps. He makes extraordinary connection and it goes deep into the stand at long on.

We are back for the chase. The Hyderabad team is out on the field. Chris Gayle and KL Rahul are the openers for Punjab. Hyderabad skipper, Bhuvneshwar Kumar to start the proceedings with the new ball.

* What a cracking finish for Hyderabad! Talk about momentum and they have it heading back to the pavilion. It was a laborious innings for them as scoring runs appeared to be quite tough.

21.44 IST: Mohammed Shami to Deepak Hooda, SIX! This has gone the distance. Hooda finishes it in style with a biggie. Receives a full toss around off, makes room and smokes it over the bowler's head for a maximum. 15 runs in this over, HYDERABAD END ON 150/4!

Curran delivers it full and in the line of the middle stump, Warner hops back again and tries to loft it over covers but it takes the outside edge and runs fine down to third man for a boundary. 11 from the over, 31 in the last three.

21.35 IST: Sam Curran to Manish Pandey, This one is wide outside off on a length, Pandey keeps his weight on the back foot and reaches out for this delivery. Forces it out towards extra cover where the fielder stops it at the edge of the circle. The batsmen have run through for a single.

Curran delivers it a little short and outside off, Pandey waits for it calmly inside the crease and spoons it over short third man. Rajpoot there reacts to his left and tries to catch it with his right hand (strangely) but it's too far away from him and goes to the fence.

21.30 IST: Ankit Rajpoot to David Warner, Good footwork shown by Shami in the deep! A full toss outside off, Warner shuffles across the stumps and swings it through square leg. Shami rushes across to his right from fine leg and uses his boot to stop the ball inches before the rope. Saves two runs for his side.

21.24 IST: Mohammed Shami to David Warner, FOUR! Warner getting into the act now. Shami lets out a slower one but bowls it on the shorter side around off. David goes deep inside the crease this time to make room and powers it through point. Mandeep in the deep puts in a full length dive but fails to pull it back.

21.21 IST: Mohammed Shami to Manish Pandey, FOUR! The final phase of this innings begins well for Hyderabad. A length delivery outside off, Manish goes deep inside the crease to make room and hammers it through extra cover for a boundary.

* Strategic break. Punjab continue to be on top by bowling tidily but they will have to maintain the same intensity in the death overs.  Hyderabad have found it tough to cut loose but David Warner is still out there and all the hopes will be pinned on his shoulders to take them close to 150, at least.

Mujeeb delivers it short and outside off, David hammers it to sweeper cover and returns for the second run. Good running between the wickets. A full delivery around off has been hit back by Warner. Ashwin goes down low to stop the ball and Nabi has left the crease. The Punjab skipper recovers quickly and flicks it onto the stumps behind.

* Mayank Agarwal is in deep pain. He is holding his little finger and is rushing out of the field along with the physio to receive some treatment. Hopefully, everything is good.

21.04 IST: Mujeeb Ur Rahman to Mohammad Nabi, Bowls a carrom ball outside off, Nabi slaps it through covers. Mayank Agarwal at deep cover does well to stop it and saves runs for the team. The batsmen get three runs. Good running between the wickets.

* Strategic Timeout Hyderabad are struggling here to get going! Once again, just like yesterday, the team batting first is finding it tough to score freely. The bowling from Punjab is decent, they have served a few poor ones too, but they haven't been put away by David Warner or Vijay Shankar. The surface appears to be on the slower side and let's see how Hyderabad deal with it in the middle phase. Meanwhile, Punjab have brought their little star into the attack - Sam Curran.

20.23 IST: Ankit Rajpoot to Vijay Shankar, BEATEN! It was bowled on a good length and outside off, Shankar looks to defend but misses it due to the away movement on this one.

20.20 IST: Mohammed Shami to David Warner, Miscommunication but no harm done! A pitched up ball around off, Warner pushes it with soft hands to covers and Shankar eyes a run. But he is sent back quickly and the throw from the fielder was quite wayward.

20.17 IST: Mohammed Shami to David Warner, Shami lands it short and outside off, Warner shapes up for a big flat-batted shot but it comes slowly off the surface and he ends up mistiming it back to the bowler. SRH 18/1 in 3.2 Overs

* David Miller is mic'd up. On his fielding effort, he says that he feels quite young. Moving over to the match, David is happy with the wicket of Bairstow as he reckons that the Englishman can take the game quickly. Observes that the ground is very wet, which means dew has already made its presence. Hopes that it gets wetter and wetter so that chasing would be easy. On the pitch, DM is surprised with so much grass on the wicket but reckons that it will be a belter. Regarding Hyderabad's dominance over Punjab and any discussion in approaching the game, Miller says that no such specific talk takes place in terms of history but more or less it is about focussing on the present. So he stresses - like focussing on Hyderabad's openers and keeping them quiet and so all. Jokes that he and Gayle discuss about different bat shapes with the latter having a few of those.

Mentions that it's more to do with the conditions. Feels the pitch appears to be a bit tacky. On containing Bairstow and Warner, Ashwin replies that they are quality batsmen and they will try to bowl well up front.
