After serving a 12-month suspension due to the much talked about ball-tampering scandal, destructive Australian opener David Warner is all set to participate in the upcoming season of Indian Premier League.
Ahead of the season 12 of the IPL, Warner had a special message for the Sunrisers Hyderabad’s fans.
The 2016 IPL champions posted a video of their former skipper in which he said, “Hi everyone, this is David Warner, I've a special message for all the Orange Army fans thank you for showing us all the love and support for all these years. Now it’s our time to give back to our loyal fans." He then goes on to tell fans about 25,000 seats that would be available for cheaper prices."
Opening batsman Warner has now recovered from an elbow surgery which he suffered during a match in Bangladesh Premier League 2018.
The aggressive Southpaw has played 117 matches in the IPL in which he scored 4,014 runs at an average of 40.54. Warner has three IPL centuries in the record books and has also hit 36 half centuries in the big-ticket tournament. Apart from SRH, he was also associated with Delhi Daredevils (now Delhi Capitals) in his initial years of IPL.
It will be a good opportunity for Warner to have some game time before the mega ODI World Cup in May in which he is tempted to make his comeback in international cricket alongside Steve Smith.
Hyderabad will start their 2019 IPL campaign against two-time champions Kolkata Knight Riders at Eden Gardens on March 24.
