In a major dent to Mumbai Indians' ongoing IPL 2019 campaign and Team India's World Cup readiness, opener Rohit Sharma seems to have picked up a hamstring injury during his IPL team's training session on Tuesday night at the Wankhede Stadium.

Rohit was working out in the outfield after a long stint at the nets when he suddenly collapsed to the ground holding his right thigh.

The Mumbai Indians skipper, who was in much pain, was soon helped by the support staff and team physio Nitin Patel.

After receiving some minor treatment on the ground, Rohit pulled himself up and made a slow walk to the dressing room.

Although there has been no official word from Mumbai Indians on Rohit's injury, it seemed like a hamstring pull. Depending on the extent of the injury, hamstrings can take four to six weeks to heal.

Mumbai Indians are scheduled to take on Kings XI Punjab on Wednesday and Rohit's participation remains in doubt.

Rohit's injury could also be a big blow to Team India as the senior selection committee is all set to pick the World Cup squad on April 15.
