Injured Virat Kohli 'working hard' to get up and running for England tour

In the latest video posted on his official Twitter handle, the Indian captain stressed on the fact that he is working hard regain full fitness ahead of England tour.

While playing for Royal Challengers Bangalore in the eleventh edition of Indian Premier League (IPL) 2018, Virat Kohli sustained an unfortunate injury which has given his fans world over a major worry ahead of India's all-important tour of UK in last week of June. However, in the latest video message on his official Twitter handle, the Indian captain gave some positive update about his comeback to action. He captioned the video, "Hard work always pays off".

In the video, Virat stressed the fact that he is working hard to get fully fit again. "Hey, guys, a lot of hard work (is) going on. The rehab is on and just doing what I can do best and whatever I am allowed to do at the moment. Just a shoutout to all you guys- keep working hard and keep at it. Hard work is the only way and hard work always pays off," the 29-year old said.

Due to the injury, Kohli will also not be able to make his County debut for Surrey in England. He was scheduled to play in three List A and three first-class matches for the County side to prepare in advance for England tour. 

As per the reports, Kohli will undergo a fitness test on June 15 at National Cricket Academy, which will decide his availability for the limited-over series the month of June and July. He was already not a part of the Indian squad for the one-off historic Test against Afghanistan which will be played in Bengaluru from June 14.

Team India will be hoping for the skipper to get fully-fit ahead of the two-match T20I series against Ireland. Both the matches will be played in Dublin on June 27 and 29. It will be followed by a limited-overs series against England, starting on July 3. Indian will then play England in a five-match Test series in the month of August and September.
