New Zealand opener Martin Guptill has been ruled out of Sunday's fifth and final ODI of the series against India to be played in Wellington's Westpac Stadium, having sustained an injury to his back during training.
At fielding practice, the Kiwi batsman who has had a history of issues with his lower back, aggravated the same this afternoon.
Even though New Zealand Cricket said that the injury wasn't too serious, the opener might be rested as a precautionary measure keeping in mind the three-match T20I series to follow against the same opposition.
Left-handed batsman Colin Munro who was dropped from the squad is set to rejoin the team and could be opening for the Black Caps.
