Rivals India and Australia will clash against each other on February 27 in Bengaluru to kick-start the 2nd and last T20I after the visitors came up trumps in a tense finish on Sunday. While the Aussies will be eyeing a series victory on Indian soil, the hosts will leave no stone unturned in their quest to prevent the same from happening.
This was India's first loss in 8 T20Is at home but their gun-bowler Jasprit Bumrah became the second bowler, after Ravichandran Ashwin, from the country to complete 50 scalps in T20Is. The Visakhapatnam T20I also marked only the fourth time that the Men in Blue lost a game on the very last ball in the format.
With the above records done and dusted, here are a few more which are up for grabs during the 2nd T20I to be played on Wednesday:
6 - India have gone through six unbeaten T20I series dating back to a 2-0 loss against South Africa in 2015-16. If they lose in Bengaluru it will snap their streak.
300 - Bengaluru will mark opener Rohit Sharma's 300th T20I making him only the second Indian to the landmark. His teammate MS Dhoni crossed the figure when he played against New Zealand in the 3rd T20I earlier this month.
1 - If Australia manage to win the 2nd T20I, it will be their 1st ever T20I series win in India barring a one-off win in 2007.
1 - More surprisingly, an Australian win will ensure a first-ever T20I series (two or more matches) win for them against India. The two nations have played 4 such series against each other till date with the Indians winning one and drawing the rest.
50 - If leg-spinner Yuzvendra Chahal takes four wickets in Bengaluru, he will become the third Indian to the milestone of 50 T20I scalps after Bumrah and Ashwin.
