India defeated hosts Pakistan by seven wickets to register their second consecutive win in the ongoing Blind Cricket World Cup, in United Arab Emirates (UAE) on Friday.
After winning the toss for the second time, India opted to field first against the hosts. Mohammed Jail scored 94 runs off 91 balls as Pakistan scored a competitive total of 282/8 in 40 Overs. Jail was given retired hurt.
For Pakistan Md. Jamil (B3 - blind level 3) and captain Nisar Ali (B3) added 137 runs for the third wicket. Nisar Ali was bowled by Ajay Reddy for 63.
In reply, India comfortably chased down the target in 34.5 overs. Haryana's Deepak Malik (B3) top-scored with an unbeaten 79 off 71 balls, striking eight boundaries, while Venkatesh (64 off 55 balls) and skipper Ajay Reddy (47 off 34) shared 106 runs for the fourth wicket.
Thanks to the victory, India are placed on the top of the points table, followed by Pakistan and Sri Lanka in their group.
Pakistan had earlier defeated Bangladesh and Nepal before coming to play India in the mega event. However, India won their last match against Sri Lanka, before which their opening game against Australia was called off due to rain.
In the last match, Deepak Malik scored unbeaten 179 runs as India stunned Sri Lanka by six wickets.
