India's teenage Test opener Prithvi Shaw has turned 19 today. Having already made a Test century on his debut, the youngster is currently preparing for the upcoming Australia tour which will be his toughest test yet as a batsman.

The diminutive right-hander rose to prominence when he smashed 546 off 330 balls including 85 fours and five sixes as a 14-year old, playing in the Harris Shield, Mumbai in 2013 breaking the record for the highest score in school cricket.

Scoring a century in his debut innings, Shaw lived up to the hype he created well before his debut. He thrashed the Windies bowler all over the park and became the second youngest Indian to score a Test century after the great Sachin Tendulkar. In the two-match Test series that India clinched 2-0, Shaw played a monumental role as he scored 237 runs at an average of 118.50.

The opener now holds the unique record of scoring a century each on his Ranji Trophy, Duleep Trophy and Test cricket debut.

Recently, Shaw made a stunning entry to the ICC Test Rankings and was placed 60th after his first international series. Shaw's positive approach towards the game made both critics and fans compare him with legends like Tendulkar, Brian Lara and Virender Sehwag.

According to a report in The Times of India, Prithvi was seen training with the help of Indian legend Sachin Tendulkar along with his coach Prashant Shetty at the MIG Cricket Club in Mumbai - the place where the icon is also running the Tendulkar Middlesex Global Academy.

Even though the Australian Tests start from December 6, the Thane-born batsman's tour will start beforehand as he will be taking part in three matches between India A and New Zealand which will also feature seniors Ajinkya Rahane and Karun Nair. Here's wishing him good luck and all the very best for an amazing career ahead!
