India's 'Mr. Dependable' No.3 Cheteshwar Pujara turns 31 today. Having guided his team to a historic 2-1 series victory in Australia at the start of the year, this birthday treat is made even tastier than ever for India's very own 'Che'.
Pujara, who scored 521 runs in the recently concluded Border-Gavaskar Trophy was crowned the Man of the Series after his three hundreds which helped India win in Adelaide and Melbourne while being in a dominant position all throughout the Sydney Test.
Since the 2015 tour of Sri Lanka where he carried his bat for a magnificent 145* in Colombo, Che has been piling on the runs, scoring 3006 runs in 36 Tests including 11 centuries across the world. He is incidentally the only Indian player to have faced more than 500 balls in a single Test innings - against Australia in Ranchi.
The right-hander's rich vein of form over the past three years has also helped him to reach the No. 3 spot in the latest ICC Test batsmen rankings.
Till date, Pujara has scored 5426 runs in 68 matches for India at an average of 51.18 while hitting 18 centuries in a stellar career.
