Indian cricketer, Smriti Mandhana floored everyone with her whirlwind half-century in the KIA Super League recently as she equalled the record for the fastest fifty in women's T20 cricket. As if that was not enough, the firebrand opener took to Instagram to share a fan girl moment with none other than former Sri Lankan captain and cricket legend Kumar Sangakkara.
Smriti met Sanga in England during the ongoing Super League and couldn't help but get a photo clicked with the southpaw. While admitting how glad she was to meet one of her idols she captioned the picture: "This just made my day. A big fangirl moment for me. Can't express how glad and overwhelmed I am. This memory is going to stay with me forever ???? #blessed #grateful #Legend #thebest."
Earlier on Saturday, Mandhana equalled New Zealand's Sophie Devine's record of notching up a half-century in 18 balls, set against India during a T20 International back in 2015. The Indian blasted a 19-ball 52 overall.
