Bangladesh Premier League franchise Sylhet Sixers have signed Australia's David Warner and Nepal's golden boy Sandeep Lamichhane for the upcoming edition of the league, which is to commence from January 5.

"We believe he is a player of great impact especially when it comes to T20 cricket," Sixers CEO Yasir Obaid told Cricbuzz when they signed Warner on October 26.

''He is a player with wealth of experience when it comes to handling the pressure of Twenty20 cricket and we are excited to have him in our dressing room,'' he added

The explosive batsman reacted the same on joining Sylhet Sixers.

''I am very excited to let you know that I am part a Sixers. I cannot wait to be part of Sylhet Sixers family,'' Warner was quoted in a video post in the Sixers official Facebook page.

The Sixers' CEO also confirmed roping in Nepal's Lamichhane as their second foreign signing outside the draft.

The Sixers retained Nasir Hossain, Sabbir Rahman and Sohail Tanvir for this season and they also reinforced their squad with the signing of Bangladesh's Liton Das.

The 31-year old Warner will be playing his third T20 league this year as he serves his 12-month ban which was handed by Cricket Australia for his involvement in the Cape Town ball-tampering scandal.

Warner's year-long ban will end in March, giving him ample time to prepare for the 2019 World Cup and the Ashes in UK. Along with Warner, former captain Steve Smith will also be eagerly waiting to get back on track.
