Even as Team India registered a thumping win against New Zealand in the historic 500th Test match, skipper Virat Kohli seemed more disturbed by the attack on Indian soldiers at Uri than he was elated by the victory.

At the post-match press conference, Kohli took a moment to express his sorrow at the 18 martyred soldiers as well as their families.

Last week, India lost its precious 18 soldiers in a terror attack by across the border terrorists, who were eventually gunned down.

Speaking about it, the right-hander said he is deeply hurt by the incident. “As an Indian it hurts. What is going on is disturbing and I cannot even imagine what is going through the minds of the families," he said.

Team India, under the leadership of the 27-year-old, today outclassed New Zealand to win their 500th Test Match at Green Park Stadium, Kanpur.

Spinner Ravichandran Ashwin took 10 wickets and also scored a 40-run cameo in the Indian first innings, playing a crucial role in the 197-run win in the match.

Effusive in his praise for Ashwin, the Test captain said he is a "priceless" cricketer to have in the team having contributed with both bat and ball in the massive win in the opening Test.

"He's been outstanding for the Indian team. If you see all the impact players in the world, he comes in the top three-four easily. There are quite a few players making big impact for their respective sides, especially bowlers. Bowlers are the one I feel that win you Test matches and Ashwin is one of them," Kohli said.
