Arjun Tendulkar, the son of iconic India batsman Sachin Tendulkar, claimed his maiden international wicket on his debut in the first Youth Test for India U-19 against Sri Lanka U-19 in Colombo today.

The teenager who was recently selected to represent India at the U-19 level had to wait for just 12 balls for his first wicket when he trapped Lankan opener Kamil Mishara plumb in front of the wicket on the last ball of his second over.

After the dismissal, Vinod Kambli - ex-India cricketer and a childhood friend of Arjun's legendary father - took to Twitter to pen down an emotional message celebrating the occasion.

He wrote: "Tears of joy rolled down when I saw this, have seen him grow up and put in the hard work in his game. Could not be more happy for you, Arjun. This is just the beginning, I wish you tons and ton of success in the days to come. Cherish your first wicket and enjoy the moment."

The match is being played at the Nondescripts Cricket Club ground in Colombo - the same ground where Lankan legend Lasith Malinga has plied his trade for a long time.

The Indian colts are on a full-fledged tour to the island nation consisting of two Tests and five ODIs. The second Youth Test will be played from July 24-27 followed by the ODIs commencing from July 30.
