Virat Kohli will return to action after recovering from a neck injury when India take on Ireland in a two-match T20I series, starting July 27. The T20I rubber in English summer will be a rehearsal for the Indian cricket team ahead of tough England series, which includes three ODIs, three T20Is and five Test matches. (Also Read: India vs Ireland 1st T20I, Cricket Live Streaming: When and Where to Watch IND vs IRE International Match Online at SonyLiv and on TV)

But apart from leading his team to prospective victories, Kohli is also going to surpass another milestone in his already illustrious career. The Indian skipper needs just 17 runs to become the fastest to 2000 runs in T20I history. Also, he only needs 6 more runs to become third on the list of all-time leading run scorers in T20Is.

Two Kiwis - Martin Guptill(2271 runs) and ex-captain Brendon McCullum(2140 runs) - sit atop this list followed by veteran Pakistani all-rounder Shoaib Malik(1989 runs). Kohli with 1983 runs to his name in just 54 innings has a great chance to disrupt this order in the next five T20Is in the British Isles.

While McCullum reached the 2000-runs milestone in 66 innings, his compatriot Guptill did it in 68. Therefore barring a catastrophe of sorts, Kohli should easily achieve the feat in fewer innings than Baz.
