India's second moon mission -- Chandrayaan-2 -- lost contact with the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) just as it was about to reach moon's south pole. Prime Minister Narendra Modi was seen consoling ISRO scientists after the news broke out.

At 6 am on Saturday, PM Narendra Modi will address the nation, right when Vikram lander touches down on lunar surface.

Vikram lander of Chandrayaan-2 will touch down on the lunar surface at 1:53 am tonight. Pragyan lander will come out around 6 am on Saturday.
03:44 pm: Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) Chairman K Sivan said that Chandrayaan 2 is going to land at a place where no one else has gone before.
"We're confident about the soft landing. We're waiting for tonight," News agency ANI quoted him as saying.
02:10 pm: Chandrayaan-2 is soft landing, using GSLV Mk III
"Chandrayan-1, if you compare it with Chandrayaan-2, basic difference is, here we are doing soft landing. The former was done by PSLV and here we are using GSLV Mk III, meaning that we have more payload capability," says former ISRO scientist Nambi Narayanan

12:30 am: The orbiter, around moon is taking one and half hour for one circle of moon. During this, when orbiter is passing over South Polar region it is scanning that area, so that it will help the to find a suitable place for landing.
11:14 am: The Chandrayaan-2 mission was led two women scientists of Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO). Muthayya Vanitha was leading the Chandryaan-2 and on the other hand, Ritu Karidhal was working as Mission Director. This is the first time when women dominated such important mission undertaken by ISRO
10:13 am: ISRO scientist tracking Vikram lander is very confident about the mission. Though they look tired because of 24×7 monitoring of the mission but they are fully confident of Success as everything is going as per the plan.
