ISRO Aditya L1 Updates: ISRO successfully places Aditya L-1 into halo orbit
India's first solar observatory, Aditya L1, has successfully reached its destination at halo orbit. It carries seven payloads to help scientists uncover the secrets of the Sun. The live updates on the ISRO Aditya L1 mission are available now.
Aditya L1 Mission: India has achieved another milestone in space exploration! Today, ISRO's solar mission, 'Aditya L1,' has arrived at its final destination after a journey of 126 days, covering a distance of 3.7 million kilometers. After the successful landing of Chandrayaan-3 on the Moon in 2023, ISRO has now accomplished its first solar mission.

Aditya-L1 in the precise Halo orbit, says ISRO Chief S Somanath
"Today's event was only placing the Aditya-L1 in the precise Halo orbit. So it was moving towards a high orbit, but we had to do a little bit of corrections... So right now, in our calculation, it is at the right place." ISRO Chairman S Somanath said in a statement.

"#ISRO has achieved it with great precision, and...," says Former ISRO chairman G Madhavan Nair
“The Aditya L1 has reached the Lagrangian point. #ISRO has achieved it with great precision, and past experiences have surely helped them achieve this. This mission will provide input for understanding the basic phenomenon occurring on the Sun’s surface. It will help in predicting severe solar winds.” says former ISRO chairman G Madhavan Nair to PTI.

Key objectives of Aditya L1 Mission
The Aditya L1 mission aims to:
- Explore the dynamics of the Sun's upper atmosphere.
- Investigate how the Sun's outer layers are heated and understand phenomena like solar flares.
- Collect data on particles and plasma around the Sun to study their dynamics.
- Examine the temperature, velocity, and density of the solar corona and its loops.
- Understand the development and origins of solar eruptions like coronal mass ejections.
- Identify the processes leading to solar eruptive events across different layers of the Sun.
- Study the magnetic field of the solar corona and its measurements.
- Explore the factors influencing space weather, such as the solar wind's origin, composition, and dynamics.

Aditya L1 will protect more than 50 satellites
Aditya L1, a mission that cost Rs 400 crore, will safeguard over 50 valuable Indian satellites, each worth Rs 50,000 crore, for the next 5 years after entering the 'Halo Orbit.' Additionally, it will examine the heat and hot winds coming from the sun's corona. The mission aims to understand the causes of solar storms, and their impact on Earth's atmosphere, and will also study the distribution and temperature of solar winds, helping ISRO comprehend the solar atmosphere better.

- SUIT captures images of the sun in ultraviolet light.
- ASPEX looks at alpha particles to understand them.
- PAPA studies the hot winds from the sun.
- SoLEXS observes X-rays from the sun and how they change.
- HEL10S examines high-energy X-rays.
- MAG uses advanced digital magnetometers to study the sun's magnetic fields.

Why Lagrange Point One (L1)?
Ever wondered why ISRO chose L1 for Aditya? The answer lies in the five Lagrange points between the Sun and Earth (L1 to L5), acting like parking spaces in space. L1 is special because it allows a small object, like a satellite, to move steadily with both the Earth and the Sun. No need to worry about the eclipse's shadow, making it an ideal spot where a satellite doesn't have to work too hard to stay in position.
