12 people died in a collision between an auto-rickshaw and a bus in Bari, Dholpur, Rajasthan. Most of the deceased were children and women. All the victims of the accident were returning from a wedding ceremony when the accident happened on the National Highway 11-B, near Sunipur in the Bari Sadar police station area.
The auto-rikshaw was from Dholpur, while the bus with which it collided was from Firozabad in Uttar Pradesh.
The collision between the bus and the auto was so severe that the auto was shattered into pieces. Its upper part was completely separated and the auto was crushed. The front glass of the bus was also broken.
The driver of the bus was also injured in the fatal accident. He was admitted to the hospital. "The bus was moving at a high speed due to this the collision took place," said a witness.
The victims living in Gumat Mohalla of Bari city had gone to attend a wedding ceremony in Barauli of Sarmathura area. Most of them were children. Late night all the people were returning to Bari on an auto-rikshaw when a high-speed bus coming from Dholpur to Jaipur near Sunipur village on National Highway-11B hit the tempo. On receiving the information, the police reached the spot and took the people in the tempo to Bari hospital.
Bari Hospital PMO Dr. Harikishan Mangal said that as soon as the injured were brought to Bari hospital, the medical team immediately started treatment. 14 people were brought to the hospital, out of which 10 had died. Four injured were referred to Dholpur in critical condition, but two people died on the way. Two injured were undergoing treatment in Dholpur hospital.
