Rajasthan Assembly elections: Launching a direct attack on the Congress party, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday said that the 'Grand Old Party' can't think of anything except appeasement, adding that dynastic politics is everything for them.
Addressing an election rally in Rajasthan's Pali, PM Modi said that his commitment is to ensure that the basic amenities of life reach every poor, Dalit, underprivileged, and every family. "Today, we are working hard to become a developed nation. For this, a government which gives priority to development is needed in Rajasthan. Nothing is more important than corruption and familial politics for Congress. This party doesn't think of anything other than appeasement politics," he said.
PM Modi on dynastic politics
The Prime Minister said that Rajasthan will play a key role in taking India forward in the 21st century and that is why a government that gives importance to development is needed in the state. "Rajasthan needs a government that prioritizes the development of the state. Unfortunately, in the past 5 years, the Congress government that has been in power here has pushed people further behind in terms of development. For the Congress government here, corruption is more significant than anything else. For the Congress government here, dynasty is everything," he said.
"The Congress government here thinks of nothing beyond appeasement. The impact of the politics of appeasement is something Rajasthan has experienced in the last 5 years. Congress has dragged Rajasthan into conflicts. The mentality of conflicts and terrorism has become stronger. On the path of harmony, incidents have occurred that could never have been imagined," he added.
PM slams Congress for ignoring incidents of atrocities against Dalits
He further slammed the Ashok Gehlot government in the state for turning a blind eye to incidents of atrocities against Dalits. "Congress closes its eyes when it comes to atrocities against Dalits. In Rajasthan, for five years, the Congress has turned a blind eye to the atrocities against Dalit families," he added.
"Recently, in Bihar, the Chief Minister, who is part of a 'Ghamandia' alliance, used inappropriate language towards a former Dalit Chief Minister, language that is not typically used in ordinary civil conversations. This incident occurred within the state legislature. Despite the wrongdoing, not a single word of opposition was voiced by any Congress leader against it," said the PM.
The Prime Minister said that the opposition's 'Ghamandia' alliance want to eradicate 'Sanatan'. "The entire country has seen what Congress and the 'Ghamandia' alliance have said about 'Sanatan'. They want to eradicate 'Sanatan'. Eradicating 'Sanatan' means eradicating the culture of Rajasthan," said the PM.
He said that Congress and its allies have an anti-women mindset.
PM on petrol price
PM Modi said that in Madhya Pradesh the petrol is Rs 97 per litre but the the Congress government in Rajasthan sells petrol at higher prices. "In the neighbouring states of Rajasthan, there is a BJP government... There, petrol is Rs 97 per litre. But the Congress government in Rajasthan sells petrol at higher prices. I give a guarantee that after the BJP government is formed, the prices of petrol and diesel will be reviewed. This will give relief to the poor and middle-class people," he said.
