Three members of a family died in a horrific road accident in Jaipur on Thursday at around 12.30 am. One of the deceased is a five-year-old girl. The accident happened at late night in the Taraisar police station area, when the family was returning from Uttar Pradesh after visiting Khatu Shyam temple in Sikar, Rajasthan.
After the accident, the car got stuck under the truck. The whole family was stuck in the car for about 4 hours. The locals said if the police had not delayed, the family could have been saved.
The family visited Khatu Shyam temple in the evening at 6 pm. At around 12.30 in the night, while on the way home, the car collided with an oncoming truck at Baki Mata turn in the Raisal police station area. After the colline, the car got stuck under the truck.
Truck driver absconds after the accident
Raiser police station in-charge Mahendra Singh Shekhawat said that after the collision with the truck, the car plunged into the ditch on the side of the road and the truck fell on the car. He said that Ravi (28), his sister Rinki (24), her husband Ankit (30) and their three-year-old daughter Devki were in the car. Shekhawat said that Ravi, Ankit and Devki died in the accident, while Rinki was undergoing treatment in the hospital.
The truck driver absconded after the incident. The police officer said that the bodies will be handed over to the family after the post-mortem. The matter is being investigated.
