Ahead of the by-polls scheduled on five assembly constituencies in the state, the sources confirmed on Thursday (July 25) that Rajasthan BJP state president and Chittorgarh MP CP Joshi had offered his resignation.
The sources said the Rajasthan BJP state president, who has been in Delhi for the past few days and has met Union Home Minister Amit Shah and Union Health Minister and BJP National President JP Nadda, offered to resign under the 'one person, one post' criterion strictly.
However, reports are also going around that CP Joshi's resignation has been seen as the party's balance to the caste equations ahead of the by-polls on the five seats in the state, which include Jhunjhunu, Dausa, Deoli-Uniyara, Khinvsar, and Chaurasi, the sources added.
Meanwhile, it is pertinent to note that this has not been the first time that the BJP Rajasthan President has offered to tender his resignation from the post. In the past too, he had offered to step down from the post, first after the results of the assembly elections held last year, then again after getting the ticket in the recently concluded Lok Sabha elections, and now he has offered to resign from the post, ahead of the bypolls.
