Why is Narendra Modi dying for US visa, asks Renuka Chaudhary (India TV Exclusive)

New Delhi, Aug 1: Renuka Chaudhary is one of the most articulate spokespersons of the Congress party. She never minces words in criticizing her opponents but at the same time,  is always effusive in her

Q: Then why is the government just a mute spectator to this conflict between IB and CBI.

Renuka:
No, No. We are not mute spectators. Just because we don't speak on TV camera on a daily basis and we don't issue a daily bulletin for making breaking news, does not mean that we are not doing anything. It's not necessary that we tell everything. You will get to know once new policy comes into being. No one is a mute spectator. This is a new transparency so you are seeing. It's not as if there were never any differences and not as if there was always harmony. Many things happen, many agencies, many people have turf wars. Many ministries fight turf wars over each other's jurisdiction. OK,It's the way that goes with the turf. It does not mean that there is a weakening or any compromise over matters of national security. The government will make sure that nothing like that happens.

Q: But the BJP says that you are using Isharat jahan case to target Narendra Modi.

Renuka: You pleasetell me , what is the BJP's experience to talk like this. Those who just stalled parliament, refused to listen to the speaker, talked to media, how can they say anything to us? They are just irresponsible opposition. They are just power hungry and they have been exposed. You ask us about Sonia ji and NAC, they blame Soniaji and say that PM is weak but you go and ask them BJP ka baap kaun hai  (Who is the father of BJP)? The fact is that they are also helpless.  They can't take any decision on their own. They are just horse riders but the reins are in somebody else's hands.

Q: You come from the state of Andhra Pradesh and there is a stir going on for Telangana in the state. Is Telengana in the offing?

Renuka: Telangana  is one issue that is there for a long time. It is a very difficult decision for us to take. But we are addressing the issue. There is a sentiment of people. We have to see what to do. We think in the interest of the people. If the majority of people believe that it is required then it'll happen. If the majority of people does not think that it is required for harmonious living then it will not be done. It is a very thin line that we are walking and we are trying to find a solution that will make the majority of people happy.

Q: Media reports suggest that your CM is not in favour of Telangana.

Renuka: No, No. I will not go by media reports with due apologies. We have to go by facts. And the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh Kiran Kumar Reddy is a young man who took over in the most difficult times of Congress party in the state. He has done a fantastic job of bringing stability to the state. He is an obedient soldier of the high command. He will give his opinion definitely but he will go by whatever high command says or whatever the decision of democracy is.  There is no place for individual egos or individual opinions and Mr Kiran Kumar Reddy has never been a man who will talk like that.
