Amethi: “Who”, a smiling Priyanka Gandhi quipped today when asked about the attacks against Congress by BJP candidate Smriti Irani who is pitted against Rahul Gandhi from this Lok Sabha constituency.
Priyanka, who did an impressive road show with Rahul, chose through the day not to respond to a volley of questions from the media which followed the brother-sister duo.
At one point while sitting in her vehicle, Priyanka was asked about Irani hitting back but before the reporter could complete the question, she asked, “Who”? When the reporter repeated, “Smriti Irani,” she said grinning,”Oh”.
When asked about Priyanka's remark, Irani retorted, “If you forget scams done by family members, why would you remember my name”.
A large number of Congress supporters had gathered here to catch a glimpse of both Priyanka and Rahul, who is also pitted against AAP's Kumar Vishwas in the May seven battle for Amethi seat.
The vehicle carrying them moved slowly as the huge crowd waved Congress flags and shouted slogans eulogising Rahul. Some enthusiastic supporters showered rose petals at them.
