Who is Robert Vadra?

New delhi, Oct 6: All of a sudden, Robert Vadra has become a hot topic in India. Everybody wants to know more and more about the man who happens to be the husband of Priyanka Gandhi and son-in-law of India's most powerful lady – Sonia Gandhi. What is his background? What does he really do? What are his achievements apart from getting married into India's first political family? Let's have a closer look at the life and journey of Robert Vadra.Robert Vadra was born in Moradabad of UP on April 18, 1969. His father was a businessman dealing in brassware and handicrafts, His mother Maurin Vadra originally belonged to Scotland. Robert had a brother named Richard and a sister named Michelle. Unfortunately, Robert's brother, sister and father are all dead now. Rober's sister Michelle died in a car accident in 2001 while his brother Richard committed suicide in 2006.In 2009, Rober's father died of heart attack under mysterious circumstances. Now only Robert and his mother Maurin are left in Vadra family. Robert Vadra's life changed after he married Priyanka Gandhi in 1997. Rober and Priyanka have two children – son Rehan and daughter Miraya.Robert's family did not like his decision to marry Priyanka. The relationship between father and son deteriorated after Robert's marriage. Things came to such a passé that Robert vadra issued a public statement in 2001 distancing himself completely from his father Rajendra Vadra who was alleged to have cheated people in the name of ensuring jobs in UP Congress Committee.Robert is said to be very close to his mother Maurin and reports say that his mother stays with Robert and Priyanka.Robert Vadra has spotted limelight for all the wrong reasons. IAC activists Arvind Kejriwal, Prashant Bhushan and Shanti Bhushan have alleged that Robert received unsecutred loans to the tune of 65 crores from DLF as quid-pro-quo for govt favours to DLF in Congress ruled states like Haryana, Delhi and Rajasthan.Kejriwal and Prashant Bhushan have also alleged that Robert Vadra received immovable properties at undervalued prices. Kejriwal and Bhushan have demanded a thorough and fair enquiry into these allegations.
