Baran, Rajasthan: Congress vice president Rahul Gandhi today again hit out at the BJP saying that the Congress always worked for the poor, but the opposition was working for the interests of the rich.
Addressing an election meeting here, Rahul Gandhi did not name either Modi or BJP by name, but frequently mentioned "the opposition" to level charges that it has always opposed pro-poor schemes of the UPA government.
"There are two lines of thoughts working in this country. The Congress wants the poor to dream big and have stomach full of food, whereas the opposition wants the poor to only work as labourers of roads and railways and stop dreaming big", said the Gandhi family scion.
"We in the Congress prefer the politics of your dreams", said Rahul Gandhi to applause from the crowd.
He reiterated his slogan "Poor Roti Khayenge, Congress Ko Jitayenge" (We will have stomach full of food, and make Congress victorious).
