Ludhiana: After a barrage of controversial statements by sangh outfits, Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) Sunday cautioned Hindu leaders against making comments which could create “trouble” for Prime Minister Narnedra Modi.
“After a long time, a government has been formed at the Centre which is abreast of Hindu culture and faith… Hindu leaders should make balanced statements,” VHP international president Raghav Reddy said here on the outskirts of the city during a function on Chandigarh-Ludhiana road.
He asked the sangh leaders to give Prime Minister Modi some time.
“Let Modi work…give him some time…he will make the dream of ‘bhartiyata' in the days to come,” he said, and asked Hindu leaders to “refrain from making statements that later create trouble for the Prime Minister.”
“Modi is aware about the culture and faith of people in the country,” Reddy said.
Earlier, at Chandigarh, he visited some temples and urged people to create awareness about the religion.
