Shimla: Veteran Himachal BJP leader and former minister Kunj Lal today died at his residence at Manali in Kullu district.
He was 89.
He was ailing for some time and breathed his last in the afternoon, family sources said.
A three-time MLA from Kullu and Minister in Shanta Kumar cabinet from 1990 to 1992, Kunj Lal is survived by three sons, including Gobind Thakur, an MLA from Manali and five daughters (all married).
Himachal Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh, former BJP chief ministers Shanta kumar and Prem Kumar Dhumal, Himachal Lokhit Party president Makeshwar Singh, former minister Karan Singh, and other leaders condoled his death.
