New Delhi: The scion of Gandhi family, Varun has been well versed with the ups and downs of a political journey since a very early age. At the age of 4 months he lost his father Sanjay Gandhi in a plane crash on January 23, 1980 and after four years on October 31, 1984, followed the death of his grandmother Indira Gandhi. After attending the Rishi Valley School in the South, Varun pursued education in law and economics at the London School of Economics. He attained his masters from School of Oriental and African Studies in London.Joining the BJP, Varun represents the young face and third generation of the party. Representing the Pilibhit constituency he became the youngest General Secretary in the history of BJP. In the 2009 elections, Varun was made the face of BJP in Pilibhit constituency in place of his mother Maneka. He won by a large margin. This victory was remarkable as it had left behind the other Gandhi family members i.e his mother Maneka, Sonia and Rahul. Varun Gandhi played a vital role in promoting the Jan Lokpal Bill in 2011. He lent support to Anna Hazare to carry out his anti-corruption movement. Varun supported the Jan Lok Pal Bill by raising his voice in Lok Sabha and by visiting the place of demonstrations as a common man. His ideologies have very recently been seen similar with those of Narendra Modi. It has become quite clear that like many BJP leaders, his focus remains on Hindutva. His provocative speeches against Muslims have even landed him in trouble. One of his controversial speeches which he gave at the Dalchand Mohalla area of Pilibhit resulted in a case lodged against him. He was proved innocent in the case. Very recently, he was acquitted for another provocative speech case which he gave during a campaign in the 2009 elections. He is married to Yamini Roy Chowdhury who is the daughter of Sunil Roy Chowdhury.Let's have look at some his interesting photographs:
