Chhattarpur (MP), Jan 28: Senior BJP leader Uma Bharti performed a puja and ‘havan' at ‘Mote Ke Mahavir' Hanuman temple here today, before leaving for Mahoba to file her nomination for Charkhari assembly seat in Uttar Pradesh.
Uma arrived in a chopper to perform the puja. Later she told reporters that barring 2008, she had paid visit to the temple everytime she was to contest an election.
In 2008, Uma had contested the assembly election from Tikamgarh assembly seat in Madhya Pradesh on the ticket of Bhartiya Janshakti, the outfit she had floated after leaving BJP. She could not even reclaim her deposit, so badly she was defeated.
In the last fortnight, she had also visited Orchha and her ancestral Duda village in Chhattarpur district to perform pujas.
