7. Gulal: Gulal is one of Anurag Kashyap's best film. It is a story of struggle for power. Gulal showed a gritty unpleasant side of student politics and organizational politics in Rajasthan.

Kay Kay Menon was featured in one of his most powerful roles.

Set in the Rajputana state, the film explores topics like hypocrisy and the never ending hunger for power. It portrays the real face of Rajput leaders who have now become a part of the elite strata of the society.

Gulaal was delayed by over 3 years due to various reasons. It had some fantastic performances. Its fiery content showed Anurag Kashyap's most consistent efforts and 
established him as one of the finest film makers of the decade.

Gulal did not earn much profit but it was highly appreciated. Some other actors in this film were Mahi Gill, Jesse Randhawa, Raj Singh Chaudhary, Abhimanyu Singh.
