New Delhi: That the Indian lawmakers don't mind violating the law of the land  has been proved once again today and it happened right inside the premises of Indian parliament.

TMC MP Saugata Roy was seen smoking cigarette in front of Gandhi statute in parliament premises where he was staging a protest along with his party MPs against proposed changes in MGNREGA.

It should be recalled that smoking at public places is prohibited in India by a SC order but the TMC MP was just not concerned about that. And  It was despite the fact that one can see notices inside parliament premises that clearly states that smoking is prohibited there.

The visuals of Saugata Roy smoking cigarette were captured by India TV crew. When India TV reporter approached the TMC MP and asked him as to why was he smoking inside parliament premises in clear violation of the law, Saugata Roy got angry and gave a very strong logic that he was in politics long before the reporter was even born.

The defiant MP askeds the reporter to show him the place where it was written that smoking was prohibited in parliament premises.
