Swamy tells Aap Ki Adalat, Dubai mafia killed Sunanda Pushkar

New Delhi: BJP leader Dr Subramanian Swamy has alleged that the late Sunanda Pushkar, wife of Congress MP Shashi Tharoor, was killed by, what he called, “Dubai mafia” to stop her from making public revelations relating to IPL money laundering. Replying to questions in Rajat Sharma's show Aap Ki Adalat, to be telecast on India TV tonight, Dr Swamy said: “Sunanda Pushkar had called a press conference on January 17 (the day she died) at 4:30 pm. “Sunanda had already told some of the journalists that she was going to make revelations about IPL money laundering, Robert Vadra's role in IPL, and the names of Indians who were part of Iraqi tyrant Saddam Hussein's Oil for Food scam.”Pressed by Rajat Sharma about whether he had any evidence, Dr Swamy said: “Yes, I have evidence. Police had also taken the statements of one or two journalists. Sunanda's servant Narayanan, who hails from Kerala, had told Police that he went to her hotel room at 6 am, and at 7:30 am Shashi Tharoor left saying he was going to attend the AICC meet at Talkatora stadium, though the meeting was scheduled at 10 am. “At 10 am, according to Narayanan, the driver came to the hotel room with an unknown man. At that time, the CCTV on the third floor of the hotel was not working, though the CCTV was active on other floors. All these are matters for investigation”, said Dr Swamy. Dr Swamy said, he has written a letter to the Prime Minister seeking setting up of a Special Investigation Team consisting of CBI, RAW and ED to probe the Sunanda Pushkar case, as money laundering, and international telephone calls were involved.The BJP leader alleged that Sunanda's body was cremated within 24 hours, though in such cases, the body is normally kept in the morgue. When Rajat Sharma pointed out that Sunanda's viscera was preserved after the initial autopsy, Dr Swamy said: “The viscera will only show the presence of substances in it. There were clear marks of physical injuries on the body which are visible in the autopsy video.”Dr Swamy said, even six months after her death, police was yet to decide the nature of FIR to be filed. “Before coming to Delhi, Sunanda had undergone checkup in a clinic in Thiruvananthapuram, and it was clear that she was not taking any sleeping pills or other medicines.”Leveling another charge, Dr Swamy said, Congress president Sonia Gandhi, during her medical checkup in the US, had stayed in an apartment on 66th Street Fifth Avenue in New York which belonged to Shashi Tharoor and a Dubai liquor trader named Kallathambi.On the National Herald case, Dr Swamy said, he wanted to see Sonia and Rahul Gandhi appear in court. “I will oppose their bail pleas and will demand that their passports be impounded to prevent them from leaving India.”Dr Swamy said, Sonia and Rahul Gandhi were chairperson and vice-chairman of Young Indian Pvt Ltd, which was set up with a capital of Rs 5 lakhs, and has now acquired National Herald's properties worth nearly Rs 2,000 crore.On Sonia Gandhi's remark that the serving of Income Tax summons to her in the National Herald case was an act of political vendetta and that the Congress would fight back and return to power, Dr Swamy said: “Let her dream, I have no objection. Sonia Gandhi will have ample time to do so when she will face 7 years imprisonment.”On offshore black money, the BJP leader claimed he could get the entire ill-gotten money back to India, if the Finance Minister was ready to appoint him Special Independent Prosecutor.“The government can bring out an ordinance naming the 70 countries which keep secret bank accounts and declare its intent to nationalize the entire offshore money kept in those accounts by Indians. Similar ill-gotten money of Mubarak's regime in Egypt and that of Gaddafi's family in Libya were seized through a UN resolution of 2005. “According to my estimates, there is nearly Rs 120 lakh crore money lying in offshore accounts of Indians. Money that have been deposited legally can be returned, but the rest of the money can be seized by the government.”Dr Subramanian Swamy in Aap Ki Adalat with Rajat Sharma will be telecast tonight on India TV at 10 pm.
