Chandauli (UP), Nov 28 : The Samajwadi Party on Sunday said it might reconsider extending support to the UPA government at the Centre if Congress leader Rahul Gandhi continued his verbal attacks on SP.

“If Rahul continues his verbal attacks on SP, we may do a rethink on our support to UPA-2,” party spokesperson and general secretary Mohan Singh said.

SP provides outside support to UPA with 22 members.Addressing a rally, Singh alleged there was widespread corruption during the BSP rule in Uttar Pradesh.

He said the SP would withdraw its support to the UPA government if prices of essential commodities were not controlled and Rahul Gandhi continued his verbal attacks on his party.

On UPA government's decision to allow FDI in retail, he said “it is keen on bringing East India company in India once again and we will not let it happen at any cost.

“We will oppose FDI in retail and won't allow foreign shops.”On Rahul's remarks on turning Uttar Pradesh into ‘Uttam Pradesh', the SP leader asked how would he do when prices of fertilisers had doubled and farmers were facing severe problems.
